It's a pretty great game. The story is nice, the gameplay is engaging enough for its runtime, and I really enjoyed all the characters. My main complaint is that I think the story could have done a little more, it was good, don't get me wrong, but it didn't feel too inventive. To me, it felt really similar to Wandersong, which is a good thing, I love that game, but it just didn't feel different enough, and it also wasn't quite as good. The gameplay, on the other hand, was leaps and bounds ahead of Wandersong. I think it's a really good title, and if it interests you, I'd recommend it.

I played this for my birthday and finished it a few days later, I painted everything. I'm an artist for my job so this was really fun and I think I would have cried at the end of the game when it added the players name as an artist credit if I wasn't on a call with my friends, that little thing at the end where it thanked me for being an artist and me just wanting to paint everything anyways just made me so happy, lovely story and wonderful color pallets. I love this game💙

Chicory is a rabbit who is the Wielder of the world of Picnic, passed down from generation to generation she is in charge of painting the world with a magic Brush. But something is happening, a darkness is eliminating the color and Chicory abandoned his work.
We as protagonists must pick up the Brush and try to help Chicory and stop this crisis while fighting insecurities, fears and what it means to find our path in life.
The game surprised me a lot, it is lovely to go painting the world and discovering different places and characters. The game has battles but they are very few and the main thing is to solve puzzles and let your creativity come out.
The trophies consist of getting all the costumes, all the brush styles, collecting all the litter, finishing the story, finishing all the academy classes, among others.
I highly recommend it, along with Toem, two stellar indie games 👍.

This game was quite enjoyable and I loved the art style and dialogue. The story was great and I loved how it handled mental health. The characters were interesting and fun to be around. I did have some fun with the gameplay but it was not designed for a controller. It would have been better on the keyboard and mouse.
Chicory's a wonderful little experience and game that every fan of Indies should give a shot. It's cute, heartfelt, charming, and depicts depression excellently along with the faults of bottling your emotions in. I'm not big on puzzles and the side content just didn't interest me with how it was handled, but I respect this game a ton.

A very enjoyable adventure game inspired by 2D zelda, with a twist. I will say I didn't expect it to have so much personality, between the sometimes dark plot points and the various characters.
Very pleasing OST and getting to paint in a blank screen however you choose is always satisfying, even for me as someone who doesn't enjoy art as a hobby.

Chicory: A Colorful Tale is a cute Metroidvania with nice music. It doesn't do anything noteworthy for the genre but being able to paint anywhere on the screen is pretty novel. I can see some people liking the artstyle but I found the white and extreme colours a bit hard on the eyes. The abilities you unlock throughout the game are not the most exciting but I did enjoy swimming in the paint. The puzzles are fairly simple but still satisfying. The story is a fairly standard "rid of the world of corruption" plot but I did like the charming characters. It's a decent game.
I have nothing bad, even nothing mediocre to say about this game. It may not hit quite the same with everyone, but, at least for me, this was genuinely a perfect videogame experience. The characters are charming and lovable, the story strikes a chord strongly, the world is a joy to explore, and the central mechanic of painting everything was a really fun way to interact with the environment.
This may be the single most influential game in my life, and I would wholeheartedly recommend it to anyone, but especially anyone who considers themself an artistic type, or just enjoys the act of creating something.
Play this game, please. I need more people to play Chicory.

I'd had this on my list as it looked like a unique game similar to Hue or Wandersong, and I was not let down! At first I was worried that I'd have to color everything to be able to advance in the game, but once I'd gotten to the first encounter the game really hooked me. The writing was quite good, and the platforming was quite enjoyable, with a lot of collectibles to uncover. As someone who is but much of a visual artist, I still really enjoyed the game.
