Phenomenal game, comparable to Animal Crossing, with a core focus on building your perfect island. Has some stronger notes (Total restructuring of area, better gameplay loop) but some weaker notes (Cast diversity is a little weak, some characters feel like shells of themselves) than Animal Crossing, but overall a great time.

It's fun. Turn your brain off, listen to some music, and drink some hot chocolate. I don't like Disney, but even I am very intrigued by this one.

clunkiest game i have ever played

Honestly Really Fun and Chill I like it.

I have the deluxe version of this game and it’s a fun inbetween games session for me! I will certainly be picking it back up again, I love it.

Cute art and fun for a while. I've played for 44 hours and honestly got pretty bored. The story is meh and the grinding just isn't for me. Might pick up again at a different time.

Oh, it's a metaphor for feeling isolated and fearing that no one understands you. They added personal grief and trauma to my wholesome Disney-branded Stardew Valley game.

game is cute and cozy but doesn't appeal to me, the grind feels a bit hefty, tho its the type of game i'd hop on after a work shift

Kristoff Sweetheart you know where my house stands in the Valley 😩

It's clear that a lot of love and care has been put into this game and it is a lot of fun with plenty to do. My daughter and I had a lot of fun meeting all of our favourite Disney characters, visiting their worlds and having them move in to our village.

To be honest, we barely scratched the surface of what this game has to offer but the grind became a bit too much and we decided to move on to another game in our huge backlog.

I imagine we'll dip back into this game at some point, however, if we never do, we had a lot of fun!

(Finished all the quests in patch 1.7 version of the game)
I can't bring myself to give a live-service game a 10/10 but it was truly a magical experience. It reminded me of just how much I loved Disney and Pixar as a child.
My favorite movie was Atlantis: The Lost Empire (sadly it’s not popular enough to be included in this game (at least as of now)).
Yeah the game is exploitative and buggy (fortunately nothing critical in my case, I only had to reload 20 or so times after getting stuck in textures, while other people have been losing their saves) but I don’t really mind because it’s cute, bittersweet, and fun.

Check out my girl

It has some great moments, but the issues it has outweighs them.

There's been items in the game like the enchanting fountain that haven't been fixed since EA. Most players have had half empty Scrooge shops for over a year since they rarely add any clothing, and instead focus on putting clothing in the premium shop or Star Path. And even then, some of the clothes they put in the premium shop have clipping issues because they didn't bother to test them on their 12 body types or 3 camera poses.

Every update comes with new bugs, some game breaking. When they do have a game breaking bug, they only post it about it on social media, so unless you look it up or follow them you could easily break your game. Hot fixes are rare, so you may be waiting a couple months for their next update to progress a broken quest.

Edit: Since writing my review, they have done one hot fix and sent one in game notice (with premium currency compensation). If they do this consistently, I will edit my review. However, with the latest hot fix, the game now has a bug where items and even parts of the characters appear invisible.

If you have any interest in this game, wait for it to go on sale and know that Gameloft cuts a lot of corners and has some scummy practices.

I haven't touched this one in a while and figure I probably won't go back to it. have a hard time finding any of types of life sim style games to even come close to the charm of Animal Crossing but Dreamlight Valley comes close.

Craft stuff, cook stuff, upgrade your house, pick weeds, mine ore, talk to Disney characters... it's what you would expect from this style of game.

The only issue for me is that I feel like I'm spinning my wheels all too often in the game. The progression vs time spent for me just doesn't compute. Cute game though, I could see die hard Disney fans really digging this one, but after around 22 hours and not much to show for it, I'm hanging up my mickey ears.

El juego en sí no está mal, pero que me mientan en el rostro pues como que no me hace mucha gracia, la verdad.

I have a really fun time playing.

The princess-collectors game I never imagined I wanted.

This is wildly addicting...when there is content to work towards. When there is no current event, I take a break from the horrid grind. But wow is it the prefect "I am exhausted from work, I am dealing with stress in my life, let me unwind" game.

I have played since early access and they have fixed a lot of bugs that would completely break the game and impede main quest progress. However, I think since the DLC came out, there are new game busting bugs. It's also disappointing to use your currency to pay for a premium quest, only for it to be impossible to finish due to a bug. Then you have to wait over 30+ days for a fix. And then, I shit you not, the fix is bugged.

It is nice to be able to step away from the game, do something else, and pick it back up with ease.

A fine cosy game vibe with a gorgeous Disney aesthetic. I'm probably not the audience for the amount of grind needed after playing the first 5/10 hours as all the goals seemed like i would need to play for months.

Has a lot of QOL options missing from games such as Animal Crossing which is a welcome change to the genre.

Legalzinho de jogar, passar 2 meses sem jogar e jogar de novo

Was trying to ride the stardew valley high and crashed and burned.

3h

Dreamlight is a genuinely decent cozy game; it's pretty, moreish, the plot isn't half bad, they've done a great job characterising, and its Star Path feature is actually really decent (giving you half your moonstones back if you complete it). The gameplay loop is good if you like collecting things, the quests feel neverending in a good way, and the decoration is Very engrossing.

But then there's the Microtransactions. I haven't seen a game this greedy in a while, obviously whalefishing more than caring for fair prices.

Half a star has been added because it's easy enough to get premium currency via the Dreamsnaps feature, but between the above and going back on its free-to-play promises and charging a ton for DLC, it won't go much higher.

Oop i guess that’s it for the main story! At least for now. Anyway when is belle getting added cowards

Such a surprising game. Gameloft is the studio behind that crappy Disney Magic Kingdom mobile game, so I had some concerns going into a Gameloft produced Disney life-sim. But honestly, after 20+ hours on it I have been having so much fun and playing non-stop. It's just so addicting. It grabs you and you don't want to leave. As a massive Disney fan, a game like this is everything I could ask for. While buggy, glitchy, and sometimes unresponsive controls, Dreamlight Valley supplies endless fun. A great alternative to Animal Crossing for Disney fans!
