Rebirth is a game i'm struggling to put my thoughts on.
For context, Remake is one of my favorite games of all time but something about Rebirth has me conflicted.

As expected the storyline was gripping, emotional and heartwarming across the games runtime and provides incredible depth and connections with the party with each member fleshed out and given their own story and personality.

The combat has only evolved from remake into allow for more control over your party and the addition of synergy attacks allow you to turn the tide in your favor when needed. Each characters skillset suited them perfectly and felt fun and enjoyable to use.

Exploration is where I'm conflicted, a lot of this is due to the change to a more open world style which has led the map to filled with Chadley tasks that are somewhat boring and tedious. Furthermore the final side quest is bugged and cannot be completed meaning I was unable to get that trophy and a few others.

The minigames are massively hit and miss, the standout being Queens Blood that I found myself always eager to play, however some of the protorelic games and golden saucer minigames felt clunky and annoying.

I do love this game and the world that the remake trilogy is creating but I feel like Rebirth could have done with the fat trimmed just a little bit.

A breath of fresh air in the co-op shooter genre with developers focused on providing game-play over cosmetics and systems to keep people come back.

The gameplay is fun and provides you plenty of ways to tackle the challenges each mission provides. The use of stratagems provides a unique way to deal with enemies and are a lot of fun to use.

The game doesnt need any form of narrative but the surface level mocking of the military propaganda is great fun and done really well.

A great game to shoot some bugs with the boys or gals.

Disco Elysium is a game that take your on a philosophical journey that makes you question many of the values you hold in the real world and how they might influence the unique blank slate that Harry is.

One of the most interesting RPGs in recent memory, the skills and systems are unlike any other and really make you question exactly what kind of person your character will become.

Kim, your partner may be one of the best written companion characters in history, his adaption and journey across the game and reactions to the variety of choices you can make is incredible.

The world of DE and all the characters you interact with are fantastic and fleshed out. Alongside being beautifully designed.

My only disappointment is the actual climax to the investigation which I found to be lackluster, however I appreciate the actual crime solving is only a small part of the world and design approach for the game.
