Hilarious dialog and great characters. My favorite Ace Attorney game.

Not as bad as I heard it was. It's like, pretty fun honestly

First and last cases are peak but the two in-between are agonizing, so it averages out to a 3

my beloved... spin the chair around apollo...

but this is the first time ive felt this way with a man He says…………

[ Story: 9/10 | Gameplay: we love reading/10 | OST: 10/10 ]

While I'm not too crazy about Apollo's 'focus' mechanic, some of the cases in this game are fantastic and among probably the darkest in the series. Very well thoughtout.

i loved the artstyle evolution for this one... still keeping the charming pixel style of the originals that the HD remasters ruined so horribly, but making it smoother. some of the animations are also crazy, particularly klavier's air guitar. the guilty love sequence has been much memed on but it's... fine. the story kinda goes off the rails closer to the end but what else is new for an ace attorney game. i do wish the juror system wasn't introduced like this, esp. with lamiroir's involvement, but i also wish the future games still dealt with what this game introduced instead of... ah................... dual destinies.......................................... oh well

PEAK GAME PEAK STORY PEAK CHARACTERS

Will try again when it gets ported but it was kinda mid when I first played it

my favorite ace attorney game! beautiful sprites, funniest writing in the series, and engaging cases with a very interesting overlapping narrative. fantastic stuff

Anyone who gets through that third case deserves immaculate head.

I love Trucy ❤️ She is clever, she is fun, she knows how to manage the critical moments. If one day I marry with someone and have a daughter I would want my kid to be clever as Truc...

Oh sorry I think need to review this game right? This game is strange, feels like the director Shu Takumi tries to find and throw bunch of new ideas as much as he could to the game because he used every idea he had in the trilogy. But none of the ideas feels cooked enough because of that. Game have the best first case in the entire franchise but that amounts to nothing when no idea gets builded upon. You introduce a new protoganist? But you throw him to the wayside later. You tell even your clients can be dirty people, but you do nothing interesting with them. You say justice needs improving, but this idea doesn't get any conclusion. You say you created a grey attorney, but you literally don't explain nor show anything about him at all to care about him unlike phoenix's mentor. You say you want to do a good willed prosecutor, but other than his brother and his love for guitars you don't tell anything about him to get interested about him. You return the kid from the first game's dlc case as a jaded detective, but her only reason for being there is to force gimmicky touch puzzles upon you. You introduce a new assistant named Trucy and she is the best character that graced this franchise with her perfection and make every other games characters thras... wait this is not a flaw.

Yeah what I am getting is this game in dire needs of direct sequel to get it's ideas get expanded upon and unfortunately that didn't happen and that is the worst thing that happened to this franchise.

Also one thing I want to say is, why third case is hated again? Because of the reasoning for court to think that the blind child as guilty right? I am not saying it was a good case, it's pacing... isn't great. But do people forget that in ace attorney universe justice rules are extreme? If a person got blamed about a crime, you have to not just discredit this claim also you need to find the real criminal. Even that was the same in the 3rd game with how maya gets treated even when we discredit all of the claims yet not finding the real criminal ends with guilty defeat?

For me second case was the stinker, with 2nd game and with this game, I realized that if you make your client obnoxious and infuriating, I lose all my motivation to continue playing even if the mystery part is interesting it doesn't matter. Because I don't play these games as a detective mystery solver, I play them as a lawyer defender and if my client is a garbage person I have literally zero reason to have motivation.

Very good game, I think I like it better than any of the individual games in the trilogy- while the first game still wins out when it comes to individual character arcs and development I think this game has probably the best overarching story of the 4 I’ve played so far and also (likely not a popular opinion) the most consistently good when it comes to individual cases; Turnabout Trump is the best intro case by a mile, Turnabout Corner is the only real weak link but it’s still much better than the likes of Big Top or Recipe, I’m a big Turnabout Serenade apologist (I get that people don’t like how it kinda drags, but I think some of the aspects people criticize about it tie in pretty well to the game's overall message) and while I can also see why people thought Turnabout Succession was disappointing I still found it really satisfying to piece everything together and a good conclusion from a story standpoint even if it isn’t the most challenging gameplay wise (and again, some of the lore-related problems I see people have with it IMO are explained by the framing device). Apollo isn’t as strong of a protagonist as Phoenix, but the new cast is still pretty likeable overall and AJ also makes Phoenix himself a much more interesting character. I can’t help but compare what this game did with him and the fandom's reaction to it to what The Last Jedi did with Luke Skywalker a decade later, and I think both works did it just as well- neither is perfect by any means but I don't think a character completing their initial journey means they should just become flawless forever, and being able to see them face new troubles, fall to their lowest moments and have to reckon with that and overcome them only makes them better heroes to me.

this game is more than fine

i genuinely don’t believe apollo justice haters this game is deadass the best in the main series

Ótimo jogo, e tem provavelmente o melhor primeiro caso de todos os jogos até agora. Gostei muito do Apollo como personagem e do meu mano Phoenix Wright como jogador de truco profissional.

It's not the best Ace Attorney game but it gave us Klavier, I love him! xD put a musician in a game and I will automatically love it xD

beanix makes me feel Uncontrollable Things .
first and last cases are AMAZING and probably my favorite cases overall in the mainline ace attorney games
the filler cases are enjoyable only because of trucy light of my life💖💖execpt the DAMN VIDEOTAPE in THAT case,,,,

The og trilogy will always be the peak ace attorney experience to me but I absolutely adore this game. if only the plot lines set up by this game actually got resolved instead of whatever happened in Dual Destinies. This game totally perfected the 2d sprites imo... and then they switched to 3d for the next game. Ah well.

it doesn't hit quite the same as the original trilogy for me but still a very good game with great characters, par for the ace attorney course

i've played the first case of this game 4 times due to emulator issues and i will play it a 5th when the apollo justice trilogy is released

It's a ok game, but kind of a weak ace attorney game.

I like a lot of the new characters, but Apollo really should've gotten more focus. Phoenix kinda hijacks Apollo's game. I like Trucy, and Emma a lot, but Klavier's just kinda meh.

Most of the cases were weaker than the cases from the original trilogy too. The game kind of peaks in it's first case.

The ending of the final case also feels like a cop out.

Case rankings:
4-1 (this case is wild)
4-4 (the ending feels like a cop out)
4-2 (it's fine, but it takes a while to get going)
4-3 (this case sucks)
