Depressing in a great way. Interesting journey with a lot of twists and turns, some predictable some not so much. Your choices make just big enough of a difference to feel like they matter. Even though the interactions between characters can be a little corny, and the little brother can be annoying, I found myself caring a lot about the survival of the two brothers. Overall pretty good, if you liked the first one give it a shot
This game actually frustrates me because the story and it’s two lead characters had so much potential to be really emotionally investing but I forgot the Life is Strange games can’t write for shit. This isn’t good but could have been.
The voice acting is also some real hot dookie. The worst I’ve heard in a while.

Started out alright, but really falls flat in a lot of ways, disappointingly. Even though I agree with a lot of the messages this game was trying to espouse, it lacks any semblance of nuance and delivers everything with such a heavy hand.
Maybe this would be better suited to a teen audience, but for an adult it's way too overt. I feel like it also falls into a trap of becoming predictable, as it persistently attempts to subvert expectations, but does so in a very obvious and repetitive manner (thus making it predictable again).
Not terrible, but definitely a step back from the first game.

You know how kids are gross? Not like, playing with dirt and bugs gross, just an inherent background grossness. You share your game controller for 5 minutes and they hand it back sticky, why is it sticky, do your hands secrete slime?
Daniel looks gross. Visually, I can tell he'll make my controller sticky. He's so real. It's an awesome accomplishment of animation and writing.
Daniel has psychic powers which go unexplained (it's a metaphor!). He has to learn how and when to use them. You... are not Daniel. You're his older brother. You can't control Daniel, only influence him through your words and actions. It's terrifying. I don't have children so maybe this is naive, but I feel like I've gotten a taste of how scary it is to realize someone you've raised their whole life is indeed a person independent from you. Making Daniel a separate entity is a brilliant choice that makes story branches natural and meaningful. Gone is the "choose your ending" ending of LIS1.
The story is about anger, and sometimes you can feel that anger directing the story instead of the other way around. The animation I praised earlier also starts to look more budget as the game goes on. Apparently there were lengthy delays between episodes when it was coming out, but that was the only seam I could spot. As a single package I loved this, and I want to replay it with different choices as soon as possible.
It's unfair even to say "It's unfair to compare this to LIS1." It is, deliberately, the exact opposite of that game. I appreciate that.

Awful, unlikable characters who are thrust into ridiculous scenarios, terrible dialogue, poor line delivery from the VA's and a story where next to nothing happens. You'll find yourself screaming "DO SOMETHING" while playing the game as it drags on and on. The protagonists are two young boys who never take accountability for their actions and just whine and complain over and over again. Each beat the story takes is just so dull, the cast are such stereotypes or cliches that you know exactly what's going to happen next. I'll give it a 1 for just the laughs the game gave me especially at the ending, but I wouldn't recommend it for that alone.
My biggest problem with Life is Strange 2 is the fact that it seems to traumatize it's characters for the sake of traumatizing them. There is absolutely nothing meaningful gained from having Sean lose his father, get kidnapped, be betrayed by a potential lover, lose an eye, and possibly die.
Also it does have an undeniable heavy left leaning tone where it tries to paint the police as the villains in the story when the brothers' situation is happening soley because of their decisions and it honestly makes the story not enjoyable to experience since everything just feels so forced, not to mention Daniel is the most annoying child to ever exist.

I really enjoyed this game however due to the nature of the story with the 2 brothers being on the run it was hard to give to much backstory and make me empathetic about characters, there were also some character I love straight away and would loved to have spent more time with for example Lyla who was shown briefly in the first episode, she seemed like a really interesting character and she only appears 2 more times in the game that are easy to miss and even then you don't see her, and once more in one of the endings, but there is no dialogue so the moment is kind of lost. that's my only complaint butt man it hurt the experience a bit for me
