Não vou ficar me estendendo, simplesmente incrível.

Yeah, this is excellent. I'm due to revisit a lot of 2D Metroid, but my impression of the series was informed by Prime 1 - slow, pensive, and thoughtful, interspersed with bigger set pieces. Dread's speed makes for such a striking but not unwelcome contrast. It's the logical endpoint of a lot of 2D Metroid's design - Super's expansive world exploration, Samus Returns' kinetic combat focus, Fusion's fragile hero necessitating a stealth approach - and so much of it feels right.
Having said that, it makes me happy how little the game is relying on "replaying the hits" (so to speak) to work. The core power-up suite from Super's here (but then most Metroids do that), but the way these are implemented within the game world often feels very unique. So much of that comes down to the E.M.M.I. encounters (for which "dread" is a great descriptor - not outright terror, just the certain knowledge that you're confronting something you can't pin down and that you need to overcome), but I even love what the non-E.M.M.I. encounters have to say about the game experience. I'm so very impressed by how much Mercury Steam "gets" Metroid, and I'm so happy they had the chance to really prove themselves.
People who say Samus is emotionless in this game are high. I've always liked Samus as an archetypal hero, but this is easily the most I've appreciated who she is as a character. For a series that's all about ambience and atmosphere, I ended up getting really invested in the actors within this play. Great stuff.

I was never really a huge Metroidvania fan, so I'm surprised to say this but I was completely hooked from start to finish. This game was way better than I expected. Almost everything in this game is masterfully designed, the environments, the animations, the difficulty, the power up progression and the challenging bosses (though some reskinned bosses can be annoying).
There are so many little touches to the point where you could tell the developers really cared about making this game great, which they did. Honestly, I think this game just made me a Metroid fan.

The glorious return to 2D Metroid in all of its glory. The game delivers on an amazing experience that I wish could last longer. The game looks and plays phenomenal even being bound to the Nintendo Switch. The game rewards traveling a path not intended by developers and it feels amazing when you do.
Despite having a control scheme devised by a lunatic, this managed to be one of the smoothest and most thrilling gaming experiences of my life. It's no Super Metroid, but at this point aspiring to be that when it's a monolith of game design, the face of speedrunning, a king of randomisers and mods... well, it would just be foolish.
Instead we have Metroid sped up. Everything moves faster, you need to react quicker, counter attacks, execute some truly bananas speed boost puzzles, and memorise the attack patterns of some truly heinous bosses.
I got every item. I died EIGHTY times. I'm not a speedrunner, and love exploring, so this was just under ten hours, which will do fine. I've never cared for the ending screen stuff and never will. I just want Metroid, forever. And this is that.

Tears of joy... when I saw a notification of this game coming out. Metroid Dread is the best of the best 2d games out there, 60 fps on the switch and the controllers are buttery smooth. Definitely the hardest Metroid game of the series (unless Metroid Prime 2 & 3 are harder, I have not played those yet...) The music on this game may not be as good as the older tittles, but the gameplay more than compensates for it.
