It only took 200ish hours but I finally finished Xenoblade Chronicles 3 and to nobody's surprise, its my favourite of the bunch. There are plenty of things that XBC3 improves upon within the franchise, but I think it's biggest strong suit is the story this time around. It might have some of the best twists and overall storytelling I've seen in a piece of media. The gameplay is likely at its peak, with the new party size, chain attacks, and class switching making combat feel extremely enjoyable. The music goes without saying, to be honest, its a Xenoblade game, of course the music is gonna go absolutely crazy. XBC3 isn't without some minor faults, things like the Chain Attack music interrupting the OST, some side quests feeling like a chore, and just the overall lack of solid tank classes, but even with those gripes, I can't deny that the pros definitely outweigh the cons on every level.
All hail the commander of Colony 11

I don't even know what to say, man. I try to speak, but there's only tears.

I’ve been a MegaTen fan for a super long time now, ever since I found Persona 2: Innocent Sin on my Dad’s PSP. That game changed me as a person to be completely honest. I then dove further into the series, playing Eternal Punishment, Soul Hackers, Digital Devil Saga, etc etc. I eventually got around to P3FES in the summer of 2019. I loved it to death, as I was going through a lot of change in my life at the time and the game was like a little escape for me. It took me all throughout June, and I beat it at the beginning of July. The ending, which is iconic itself, had me crying a little bit, and Memories of You quickly became one of my favorite songs from a game ever.

Now when I heard that there was going to be a remake of Persona 3, I was super skeptical. I couldn’t believe it. Then, when the trailers started rolling out, I was even more skeptical. I really didn’t want Atlus to “Persona 5ify” one of my favorite games, and from the first couple trailers for Reload, it kinda seemed like they were doing that. But, as more things started to come out about the game, I became more hopeful and was actually pretty hyped for it. I preordered it, and played it at midnight on launch. Needless to say, I was pretty immediately blown away, and I adored what Atlus had done.

I did (and still do) have some minor nitpicks so I’ll go over those here.
- Some music (mainly near the beginning) didn’t play in the right spots
- Some of the remixes are pretty meh, the big ones I didn’t really care for were Mass Destruction and Unavoidable Battle
- I much prefer the anime FMVs from the OG for the most part, but there were a couple exceptions
Those are all of my complaints, seriously. Only 3 things, which even baffles me considering how critical I am of remakes.

Everything else that the game did though I absolutely loved. Like loved loved loved. Most of the new remixes are fucking phenomenal, the new hangout gimmick with the SEES members was super cute and they were super fun to go through and Tartarus had new life breathed into it and it looked great. The ending got me hard here as well. It was a mix of just how good the cutscene direction was, how good the music was, and my overall nostalgia for the game and how it helped me through a hard time in my life. I was sobbing, HARD. My shirt is still drenched as I write this. The Memories of You remix is gorgeous, and I will not be able to listen to it without sobbing uncontrollably for the foreseeable future.

Overall, an amazing game.

Resident Evil 4 Remake has all the qualities that my favourite RE games have in spades. It's ridiculously replayable with great level design, the horror aspects are just as good as the action aspects, and the gunplay feels incredible. The new improvments to both Luis and Ashley's characters make them infinitely more enjoyable than the original, and Leon still has that dorky charm with the seriousness he had in RE2R.

Overall, this genuinely might be my all time favourite RE game. If only we could go to Bingo in-game.

I thought to myself "this game is evil" about every 10 minutes for my entire playthrough and it somehow topped itself every time.

Silent Hill 2 was always a game that I knew so much about but I had never played, so much so that I often said it was my favourite game I'd never played. Now that I finally put my own scaredy cat tendencies aside and actually played through the game, I can firmly say that it's as great as I thought it'd be. I can say the same things everyone else has about the story, atmosphere and overall horror but to me, the shining star of SH2 is the sound design and music, with tracks like Heaven's Night, Betrayal and Promise (Reprise) being stand outs. Overall, I very much enjoyed my time with SH2, even if I was secretly losing my mind in fear the whole time.

The best and I do mean literal best thing that they have done to make this game the best in the series is that they killed off the absolute most annoying character in the whole series TWICE

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is a very very very fantastic game. Phenomenal even. But there are so many things in this game that just kill it for me, making it hard to give it a full 10/10.

Great stuff:
The peaks. This game had insanely high peaks and from Chapters 6-10 I was hooked.
The main cast and honestly all of the characters. Such a great group and I loved all of their interactions. Really made me appreciate the heart to hearts. And don't even get me started on Torna, Jin is my GOAT.
The general plot. Amazing plot yet again from Xeno and I love love love how it heavily ties back to Blade 1. I was flipping out when Klaus showed up and also when Malos got his Monado. Amazing shit.
The combat (mid/late game). When the combat picks up, IT PICKS UP. It felt so rewarding to hit driver combos and chain attacks. Double Spinning Edge supremacy.

Alright stuff:
The environments. I felt like overall the environments were pretty neat but I much prefer the places from Blade 1.
Combat (any other time). It just feels... eh? Not bad but not exactly great.

Bad stuff:
FIELD SKILL CHECKS. These honestly wouldn't have been as bad if I didn't have to switch out my blades to do them!!! It's so fuckin annoying!!!
FANSERVICE. The fanservice at its worse in this game is unbearable. Specifically Chapter 2's and Chapter 4's. That shit made me uncomfy and really question the merit of the game.
THE LOWS. Even though this game has insanely high peaks, it has even lower lows. There were some parts that just made me so upset (refer to above fanservice section) that it just made me want to stop playing.
SLOW BURN. The early game (Chapters 1-4) of this game drags hard. There were so many pointless things in the main quest. Why the fuck did I have to go help some kids??? I don't care about some random children!!! I'm personally not the biggest fan of slow burns regardless so it really just added to it.

Overall, Xenoblade 2 is a fucking awesome awesome game. The peaks are so insanely peak but the lows are so low that it kind of counteracts it. I really liked this game a lot though and I'm very excited to get to Torna and Blade 3. :3
