Best New Fan Translation I Played
Yeah this one isn't too surprising. I really liked this one back in January I think it came out? I knew I was gonna like it the moment I saw the fan translation came out and I'm happy it didn't disappoint.

Best Fighting Game I played as someone who sucks at them
This game really surprised me when I tried it out. I was actually just testing it and got addicted and beat the whole game. Would love to try one day to unlock everything. Play it if you haven't yet.

The Best Game that Redeemed Itself
This one use to be an 8/10 game as my review originally had it but I ended up playing it more this year and now I adore it now. Wow Angel_Arle finding a way to praise Valis again, what a shock!
Runner up: Burning Force

The Best Konami Game I Played
This shouldn't be a surprise but this one excelled in many things and loved the experience a lot. My favorite PC Engine game. Can't wait to give it an actual review next year.

Best Shmup I Played
Wow it's another CAVE shmup which isn't too surprising. Wish I got to replay this one but can't ATM. Really really fun shmup with a cool aesthetic.

Best 2023 Game
I love the original and this one is for the most part still pretty damn great! It's been years since I played it back on the Wii so it felt really nice replaying this one. A great remake for a great game!

Best Game that Made me Cry
God I still can't stop thinking about that one song, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa.

Best RPG I Played in 2023
While the 2nd half of the game has some pacing issues, the game as a whole is pretty fun. Not my favorite game in the series but still a really good start.
Runner up: Atelier Marie Remake: The Alchemist of Salburg

Best Bomberman Game I Played
This is actually now my favorite Bomberman game as the single player is really enjoyable with great levels, bosses, and fun multiplayer. You really can't go wrong with this one.
Runner up: Super Bomberman 3

Best Game that Started with a G
This was a pretty cool shmup from M2 for the Game Gear though I'm one of the weird ones who prefer the previous game.
Runner up: Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire

Best Game I Couldn't Finish Due to Technical Issues
My laptop I played this game on got bad and I only got about halfway through this game and haven't had motivation to retry since because the game is so slow!

A nice improvement over the first game especially when I could use one of the characters to camp most matches. Really fun game for the N64!
