Super Mario Galaxy truly is a fantastic game. But I'm sure you've heard that countless times by now.
Visually, Galaxy is stunning. On an orchestral level, the soundtrack is extraordinary. The true star of the show (no pun intended) is the level design. My god, time and time again Mario Galaxy's levels impress me. I only completed the game with 67 stars, but many stages impressed me in various different ways.
Freezeflame Galaxy stood out to me the most. I loved the concept of a contradictory ice/lava environment, and the ice skating, fire flower, and ice flowers all added to my enjoyment of the levels. Idea after idea, Galaxy never ceased to impress me.
Unfortunately, I do not believe that this game is without flaw. Being a 2007 Wii game, various motion-oriented mechanics were implemented- with varying results. The rolling ball segments can be.. decent at best? I personally liked the Ray Surfing better, but both were implemented decently.
The final boss was also a bit disappointing. As expected, it was Bowser yet again. The fight was composed of previous boss battle segments, rather than being a new Bowser phase (as I had hoped for).
Overall, I enjoyed this game quite a bit. Will I continue to earn the remaining 53 stars? Definitely. Should any fan of platformers play this game? Without a doubt.
4.5/5. Polished, a bit experimental, but ultimately a great success for Nintendo and players alike.
P.S. SannicFann, I await your review. :)

It's hard to dislike Doom 2016.
After nearly 27 hours of gameplay, I have decided that Doom 2016 is a good game. The graphics are excellent for 2016 standards, the gameplay is consistently fun, and the music is fitting for the atmosphere and action. The enemy designs, weapons, movement, and new mechanics are all great.
However, not every aspect of Doom 2016 is perfect. I do not think that the game's story was very interesting, but I understand that gameplay was id's primary focus. I also may be one of few people to say this, but I encountered a few odd bugs and glitches while playing the game- none of which were performance related (the game runs buttery smooth on my higher-end PC). To quickly name a few, enemies would sometimes get stuck in walls becoming unkillable, I would fall through the map after a glory kill, and after replaying a level to collect a missed rune, I accidentally exited the level, making it impossible to complete one of that stage's challenges. These are quite trivial issues, but I found them notable nonetheless.
This was just my experience, yours may differ greatly. Good luck, and keep killing demons. :)
