Some of the best combat I've seen in a character action game and it still shocks me that this is a ps2 game. Vergil is a fantastic character, I love the sheer camp that Dante brought to every cutscene, and I loved being able to just combo enemies into oblivion. It is important to know that this game is extremely hard and if you're not prepared to replay certain bosses over and over again this will not be an enjoyable experience for you.

Absolutely immaculate vibes and I cannot wait to get to the other entries of this series. I found the combat to be simplistic but engaging especially for such an early ps2 game. All of that being said the best atmosphere in the world won't fix the back half of this game, it's very much a situation where difficulty should be expected but it was a lot near the end, ESPECIALLY the boss fight against Mundus. Overall a solid game even if it aged a little bit and a nice first entry in what later becomes an all time great series.
