A transcendent experience
I grew up with poker (my grandfather is the God of Poker), so this was both very nostalgic for me and an inspired twist on a classic
The music is masterful, the sound effects are mesmerizing, and it's going to go down in history as one of the most perfect roguelikes ever created
10/10
P.S. - I can't wait to see if the modding community gets hold of this. I can't IMAGINE what crazy decks and Jokers they could make

An incredible experience. I don't like horror that much, whether it's movies, games, or whatever. Beyond things like Poe or Lovecraft, or satire, they just don't resonate with me much.
This is my favorite horror game ever, and one of the best games I've ever played. Truly wild how much it improved over the first game, expanding on its story (and Control's), pushing the universe forward, pushing the genre forward, and blowing me out of the water.
The team at Remedy are truly masters.

A very creative and fun story with very few characters, but all of whom are generally used well. While the story pulled me forward, particularly because I had already beaten control and it's DLC packs, I found it overstayed its welcome in several ways. The developers should probably have taken 1/3 of it out.
There is way too much combat, there are way too many enemies, and given how heavily the game relies on them, you're very limited stamina and bad / unreliable dodge really take fun out of the combat experience.
I played it to prepare for Alan Wake II and, while I do not regret playing it, I will never play it again.
