This review contains spoilers
So many feels. So many strawberries. ALL of the platforming.
Update:
(Spoilers - Chapter 9)
The 'Farewell' chapter is a post-main story narrative where Madeline struggles to accept that the Granny she initially met on Celeste Mountain has passed away. She's torn apart inside and trying to process loss, not attending the funeral, and not being able to accept that this person is no longer in her life. As a result, this brings her anxiety, depression, and a slew of emotions she is trying to cope with while, at the same time, not being able to listen to her inner voice. I lost my last grandparent last year and wasn't able to say goodbye or attend any funeral or memorial. This ending crushed me emotionally because it resonated so much with me. No video game has ever touched so profoundly on something so real and relatable personally, and this journey and story were indeed something to behold.

I might come back to this, but as someone who only had Elden Ring as their Fromsoft experience, I feel that this game felt nothing short of clunky. If this were all I had when this came out, I would appreciate it far more, but it's hard to ignore the difference in the quality of life changes future Fromsoft games have made since this entry. My opinion might change in a future attempt, but for now, I am moving to Dark Souls 3.
