I like the story, and I get they wanted to tie the gameplay into it but it's just repetitive and annoying. I know playing it in a marathon like way is bad, but that's just how I play games and it just doesn't jive with me. This game is not perfect, but it also isn't the worst thing ever made.

I attempted to play the original Metroid II: Return of Samus yesterday. Within only an hour and a half I felt nauseated due to the greyscale visuals (I didn't know I could change the color until after and even then it didn't help much), the gratingly terrible soundtrack and noises, and just the overall snoozefest it was turning out to be. So I decided to drop Metroid II for this wonderfully crafted fan game instead, and I'm glad I did.

Dislaimer: I also own Samus Returns for the 3DS, so I feel no guilt in playing this game. Not that I would anyway, it's not piracy, it's a fan game, and I don't really feel bad with emulating games anyway given Nintendo's BS stance on the matter.

AM2R is just a really well crafted game, filled with moments that actively made me tense and filled me with anxiety on levels that neither Dread nor Fusion could reach. Fighting Metroids in dark corridors, having them pop out of nowhere for a fight, the building up to new evolutions of the species, all of it coalesces into one of the most kino Metroid games I have ever played.

The controls feel precise and smooth, only issue I had was trying to Shinespark using the analog stick, which at times felt pretty slippery which screwed with my timing. I don't know if that was a Me issue or a game issue but just something I noticed while playing.

The challenge was fair for the most part, though I would like to give mention to The Tester for probably being the most annoying boss in the game. It's an overall fair fight, but Metroid games aren't Sh'mups so having to adapt to a completely different mindset for that boss was a bit irritating. Invincibility frames could also use some extending just saying, getting juggled in this game is the worst and I really hope it's something that gets fixed in an eventual update.

Overall, this game felt great enough for me to collect every item in the game, the second Metroid game I've done that for now, with the only other one being Dread.

This is definitely a phenomenal experience, and basically makes the original Metroid II completely obsolete. Don't play the original Metroid II, play this. Or Samus Returns if you're a purist, just don't play the original Metroid II, it's gross.

Speedrunning this game is the most fun aspect about it. You should definitely use a guide during your first playthrough though.

The Gravity Suit sequence break can kiss my ass, but at least the reward is great.

I keep improving, very nice. My OCD with collecting items keeps fucking me up though.

This is the worst Pokemon game I've ever played for a list of three reasons.

1.Pokemon Go! as the main mechanic of a full price console game is somehow more boring and exhausting than turnbased combat
2. It takes what feels like 30 minutes to get to the first trainer battle.
3. Features like Abilities have been removed for no fucking reason making combat even more stale and boring.

I hope they never make a sequel to this pile of garbage.

This is just a fun game to mess around with. Hatsune Miku vs Dio Brando in an all out bout for supremacy, just like everyone has always dreamed about. Also Goku.

The fact that I can't rate this game a zero is upsetting. This is the third worst Pokemon game I have ever played. I'm often told that Pokemon isn't an RPG, and I'm sorry little Timmy, but you're a god damned idiot. This game is an RPG, and is by far the dumbest Pokemon plot ever conceived, which is saying a lot when you consider this franchise is developed both by and for literal fetuses, like myself. The fact that it feels like I am a side character in a plot about a Sasuke rip-off voiced by Goku trying to find his sister's stolen cat from a fascist para-military organization is absolutely ridiculous. Why am I even going to the gyms, what's the point, it's Hugh that takes center stage at every god damned opportunity and that's just really fucking obnoxious. I hate him, I hate his character, and I hate this plot. The gameplay is nothing new, it's fucking Pokemon, I don't get how the gameplay of this game is any better than BW1 which was pretty much the exact same in regards to combat. It's Pokemon, it's just unfortunate that I have an unhealthy obsession with this one's nonsensical plot, otherwise it'd be the most forgettable Pokemon game I've ever played.

Like this review to scare a local Collin.

I don't like Tolkien or Lord of the Rings much, but god damn if this isn't one of the most addicting kusoge I have ever played. Possessing the entire army of Sauron and bending them to my will is super satisfying though I'm still miffed I had to play half the game to get the ability to do so.

God, I want this game again so bad. I rented it a bunch as a kid, but then my PS2 died. I miss this game, it's like the parental figure I wish I had. It taught me many things, but mostly that I really love Dragon Ball.

This game is the equivalent of being told your son doesn't share any of your genes.

You ever just like driving a tank? Cuz that's 85% of this fucking game. I don't really like it very much, and the story is just way too simple and easy to figure out.

The best Arkham game, period. It solidified the genre of Arkhamstyle games and inspired a lot of games coming forward. (Spiderman PS4, Shadow of Mordor, etc.) The story is easily the best part of this game, and the ending is so god damned satisfying as a long time Batman fan. Play this game, please.

It's alright, if not a bit short and with narrow level design. Outside of that though it's got a relatively decent story and good combat. Sadly it just doesn't completely hit the mark on what the Arkham Series could be. That would be left to the sequel.
