VR games i've played in order of enjoyment

A list of every VR game I can remember playing and how they rank in terms of enjoyment.

If The Last Clockwinder has taught me anything it's just how wrong all the coaches were that tried to recruit me to sports teams in school cuz I can't throw or catch for shit apparently
Walkabout is perhaps the perfect VR game. A perfectly executed incredibly simple premise. Everything feels right, the art ranges from simple and pretty to stunning and impressive from course to course, wonderful music, great bonuses like finding lost golf balls, or the more advanced searches for new clubs, hundreds of excellently designed holes of mini-golf which are regularly joined by new courses at a reasonable price.

Easily the new default for introducing someone to room-scale virtual reality.
A little janky at times, but a fantastic game. One of the first true achievements of the genre.
VR Skater is tragically the coolest I have ever felt.

Its so wild to me just how well VR Skater works. At no point does it really feel like the games error when I fail, its always human error. That's not to say the tutorials couldn't be a bit better, but i digress. This game should be a puke machine, yet instead its one of the most comfortable VR games I've ever played, one of the only games in general that I actually care about getting better at, and has a unique control scheme that allows for that learning.
It is worth noting that I am a massive Boneworks fiend and also entirely fine with this games very open-ended premise. Your mileage may greatly vary dependant on your opinions of those two things.
Regardless, I adore this game. It's essentially just a more concise Boneworks that's much more compatible with drop-in short play sessions and I appreciate that.

That's not to mention the really interesting stuff in the actual narrative of the game. It's fascinating seeing a sequel that is functionally about the development of the first game and not just thematically, but also getting into the actual technological development of it which is especially interesting for such a revolutionary game as Boneworks.
VR Wii Sports, disturbingly fun to just annihilate some kids
The best STALKER game. What more could you ask for.

A game that somehow managed to come so early, yet understand the hardware so perfectly
A game that translates insanely well to VR
Plays it a bit safe for the sake of accessibility, but it's an excellent polished experience.

11

Demeo is a solid tabletop RPG roguelite that makes unique use of VR/MR tech. I personally feel that the gameplay is just okay on its own, but all the fresh takes provides by VR aid said gameplay to good heights.

12

A nice puzzle game that would be incredibly annoying to control outside of VR
An excellent rhythm game that doesn't overcomplicate things and serves an underserved genre of music
Assassin's Creed Nexus is an excellent game that gives one hope for AAA VR games. I personally think that VR absolutely does not need AAA to succeed, but in a world of Fallout 4 VR, Wolfenstein Cyberpilot, and Medal Of Honor Above and Beyond it's a sight for sore eyes to see Ubisoft create such a lovingly crafted VR game.

Good intractability, fantastic world design using established canon, and best-in-class (honestly perhaps best ever) accessibility options. AC Nexus is a triumphant success in an already great year for VR.
I wish Dishonored wasn't such a loaded comparison point. VTMJ is very inspired by Dishonored, but it does it an injustice to compare it to Dishonored since that game has so many systems at play and VTMJ is just a great stealth game that uses very similar mechanics in VR.

Regardless, this game takes the lessons of the likes of Half-Life Alyx and applies them to an excellent stealth game in the VTM universe (a universe that is starved for especially good content)
A truly great mech combat roguelite. So much depth and variety, solid writing if a bit sophomorishly adult just for the sake of it, and great polish.
The perfect VR FPS porting platform. Team Fortress, Halo, Call Of Duty, Battlefront, anything you want.
Absolute fucking insanity. Garry's Mod and Counter Strike Source in VR is just as unhinged as you think it'll be
Obviously great though it can get pretty janky
One of the mediums first great single player campaigns
Great roguelite. Suffers from how awful the Vive wands are, I really need new controllers.
Good news, there's a new Half-Life from a Valve developer and it's comparable in quality to Half-Life Alyx.

I can see why this game took so long to develop. The world just really does have that Valve lived-in feeling, environments packed with interactions and backstory. Make ya wish Zach was into immersive sims to see just what he could pull off with this level of design.

Excellent gunplay, at worst eh but at best laugh out loud hilarious writing, and a solid story propel this game to the VR greats.
One of the better Half-Likes I've played. Fun enemy design, very Valve-esque writing, and fun combat all come together for a very solid time.
The metaverse you told Zucc not to worry about
I believe I personally prefer the gameplay twists that Battles provides, but it is inarguably less content with some strange gating decisions.

The litany against fear in video game form
The premiere VR John Wick game. I imagine it'll be much more compelling once it's more than just a wave combat sim, but even now it's great
I wish it supported smaller spaces a little better, but it's a vibe and a half
Wish it was a little meatier, but it's arcade fun
Can be a little jankier than its even intended to be at times, but when it works It works well.
Obviously you shouldn't go into Fruit Ninja expecting an expansive experience. Its Fruit Ninja. Its a widely expanded Fruit Ninja for sure, but it is Fruit Ninja. This game does have the saving grace that Fruit Ninja Kinect is no longer really available and this is basically just 1:1 Fruit Ninja Kinect.
Test your stomach acid might in this batshit spiderman fantasy world
Unfortunately leans much further towards V2 than the series' recent efforts. It works fine, but it could have been much more had they leaned towards the series' recent excellence.
Look, I get it okay? It brings great shame to myself and my family that I like this game so much.
I'm not very good and it feels like a fever dream
It does t go anywhere near as far as What The Golf did, but it certainly isn't a bad game. It's well made, it's just not that exciting after What The Golf.
A technical disaster on top of an otherwise good game. I adore Power Wash Simulator, this is just an unfortunate release of it.

40

A solid tactical shooter

41

It's a tech demo, but it's a hell of a tech demo
It's Sniper Elite VR again, warts and all, but less inspired.
Moderately better than Skyrim VR in the most literal sense of the word moderately
Base game? Horrid. Modded? Pretty great
Flat screen? One of my favorite games ever. VR? War crime
