I was REALLY forcing myself to try and finish this, but after hitting the alleged half-way point, I just can't muster up the ability to play it. Alan Wake is a pretentious, stupid, and often hilarious narrative-led game that structures its horridly bland gameplay experience around a pretentious, convoluted narrative, terrible voice acting, and the most egregious product placement the world of video games has ever seen.

I sincerely do not understand where the hype comes from for this one. Yeah, it's original on paper, but in execution, it's a bad gameplay experience further bolstered by a story that thinks its a million times smarter than it actually is.
