the third Fire Emblem game I've played (I'm counting Heroes, I only did the first 2 books from that game)

Intelligent Systems handled the mechanical expansions quite well, I enjoyed every feature added since the previous games, I think the most notable pitfall is how unoptimized the game is (I'll cut the devs some slack, they're not exactly one of Nintendo's bigger studios)

my only real complaint for what the game is, is that the Master Class system is not balanced at all. I don't see how they thought 4 classes requiring horse riding training, but only one focusing on swordfighting, and the only armoured and bow master classes also requiring horse riding skill was a good idea

However, I will applaud the dev's approach to having multiple paths (especially when the 4 paths are each more varied than the two paths of basically every pokemon game, which are always on two separate cartridges, I'm looking at you Pokemon SWSH)

also has a great soundtrack, and a nice cast of characters

I don't know how this held together by duct tape game touched my heart so well, but it did.

I've started five separate playthroughs, finished 2, and still don't understand how this game does everything so well when it's so mechanically broken, especially in 18 months, I feel like there's some weird parallels with Majora's Mask

maybe Obsidian used black magic, idk

I know this game is flawed in numerous ways, but I enjoy a lot of things about in, in ways I can't explain well, probably largely due to nostalgia. I think the most disappointing thing about this game is the amount of mechanics added that game freak just decided to not reuse in a mainline game again for some reason???

totodile my beloved

not a fan. outside of appreciating what it did for the genre and the series, every succeeding console Zelda game makes this feel so clunky and outdated and I just could not get into it proper. I tried, I played through the whole game (minus some pieces of heart), I put every other zelda game I've played over this without a challenge

my introduction to the fire emblem series, there's so much to love about it, has some great characters and interesting (albeit broken in some cases) mechanics to play with, but I can't help but feel slightly uncomfortable with the romance system (especially when you're choosing the parents of future party members)

for the love of the gods, do not play the wii version if you have the choice

to this day, I still don't understand why the single player and side modes fell off so hard after brawl

the only fighting game my silly brain can wrap itself around

for the love of the gods Nintendo, fix your online servers

Quite possibly my favourite game of all time, it goes above and beyond mechanically, thematically, and especially with all of the

I don't think it's an exaggeration to say that this game changed my life for the better, especially because of the writing of the characters futaba and sumire (because complicated reasons), this emotional rollercoaster is essentially a masterpiece in my mind (and also kind of sort of lead to me getting a girlfriend)

I ended with only two complaints, being that the game has a tendency to be unclear about progression and rewards in side quests, especially when confidants are involved, as well as the velvet room often seeming to require an online reference guide, or save scumming, with how all of the execution types are
