I believed I was originally gifted this game, and didn't properly play it until the pandemic. I don't play too many metroidvanias but man does this game take the cake and impress me so. Asides from the gameplay which was pretty damn fun, it was a nice challenge, at least for me personally, especially with some of the platforming. I don't think I'm saying anything new with the art and music being the highlight of this game. I can still distcintly remember the nights I stayed up playing this, and I loved every moment of just taking in the environment, particularly the City of Tears. I still have yet to complete the DLCs and sadly I did not pass Trial of the Fool as of this review because I suck, but I decided today to just say screw it and fight the final boss. Even if it's been forever since I played this game last, it was enjoyable now and I only look back on it fondly when I think back on it. I'll definitely give this game a revisit for sure. Absolutely excited for Silk Song.

God dayummmm I was thoroughly impressed. Not long after completing FF1 I shortly made my way to this. Was impressed to say the least, and having names to these characters definitely invested in the story. Start was a bit rough and the new mechanics took me a bit to get used to but once I got past that I was left with a really fun experience and a step up from what FF1 had to offer. Ricard and Leila were my favorite party members, bless them, and bless this game.

Bit the bullet and officially started the FF series with the first pixel remaster. I don't play many JPRGs so even if it wasn't daunting it also wasn't something i'm particularly well versed in. With all that said, I had a great time! I found myself enjoying it way more than I anticipated. It was a nice fun time and I found myself having way more fun than I would have figured, and I kind of forgot I like needlessly grinding in games from time to time. Ended the game around level 50 and still had a good challenge with the final boss. Lookin forward to what the rest of the series has in store for me! :]
