Kusoge is a slang term for "shitty video games", mixing the word "poop/kuso" with "game/ge-mu" (often shortened to just "ge-"). It's usually used for games so horrendously bad, it's hilarious. It's kind of a popular topic with gaming in Japan. Why mention the best of the best if you don't want to talk about the worst of the worst? They start off the list by saying Atari's ET is the predecessor to all shitty games, completely tanking the company. Looks like ET gets the all bad rep as one the "worst games of all time" outside the US, as well! But nonetheless, the majority of the games here are Japanese, but are all notorious within the Japanese gaming community.

Here is the link to the ranking I'm getting information from, but I definitely recommend having an adblocker before going on. The website is less video game focused as it is more so general media focused. As a result, we get more general opinions over maybe an intense gaming community one. That's not to say some intense gamers don't throw their vote in the poll! Just don't expect it to be the most popular vote, over something more casual.
