Final Fantasy Mainline Series
This is my current and up to date ranking of the mainline games of the FF series. This means it is only considering games like Final Fantasy 1 through Final Fantasy 16. Sequels such as X-2 and the XIII follow ups will also be incorporated as well. However, spin off games such as Crisis Core, Dirge of Cerberus, or Revenant Wings will not be considered. This same logic follows for spin off franchises like Tactics, Theatrhyrhm, and Dissidia. And because they are completely different types of experiences the MMOs(FFXI & FFXIV) will also be left off the list as this isn't a genre I really care for nor would I compare as similar to the other games in the series.

@Zangril I still may try to get to that sometime this year too! It and 12 are the huge games of the series I want to try out to the end properly that I haven't yet. Played about 5 hours of both so both are due for a fresh restart if anything. Gotta finish up Clive's story first though!
@Doaks I think my plans are to get to 5, 6, and then skip to 12 before the end of the year. Since I've already skipped around by doing 15 out of order there's no need to continue doing that lol. Yeah we can't forget to conclude Clive's journey first. The poor boy deserves his happy ending!
@Zangril I still might try and play 5 around the same time as you if things line up haha. Otherwise, yeah man just do it your own way and try and have the best of time with it. I'll follow along with your thoughts either way. God damn right Clive deserves a happy ending. If he doesn't get it I will riot something fierce when doing my end of year thoughts!
@doaks It really all comes down to what else is coming out this year since a lot of stuff still doesn't have release dates lol. I would have loved to keep going in order but I'd rather put priority on the games I haven't played yet since that's a new experience. I'll still go back to the other ones at some point since I want a fresh playthrough on all the mainline games. I'll be looking forward to your rant or praise of everything then. Either way it's going to be a good read!
