This is not at all the game that everyone has been waiting for all this time. Too bad Rihanna Pratchett didn't get it.

The continuation of the game turned out even better and more exciting than the previous part.
Once again we return to the role of a powerful overlord and his army of loyal little demonic creatures. The game has even more satire, jokes, and dark humor. There are funny moments at almost every turn.
The game has become even more atmospheric and beautiful. The locations and scenery are stunningly beautiful and exciting when exploring new places. Winter locations, tropical jungles, fabulous underground caves, imperial palaces - everything looks just awesome!
The minion controls have remained almost unchanged, except that they now have separate squads of riders. Mounts are unique to each type of minion and have their own abilities. Minions also level up in battles and gradually become stronger. But now there is an opportunity to revive the deceased veteran in exchange for several newcomers. There are now even more elements of armor and weapons that servants can wear. But the appearance changes individually only in brown demons, as it was before.
The overlord itself looks even cooler and more epic than in the previous part. He has more options for armor and weapons. However, from the magical abilities, only lightning remained, which can be strengthened by magical catalysts. There is still an opportunity to absorb the life of one of the minions or throw it like a bomb charged with magical energy. Using magic, the overlord can also turn ordinary citizens into his servants. Thus, they become like obedient zombies, working and acquiring resources for you. Additionally, in some locations, the main character can inhabit his minions' bodies to enter previously inaccessible areas. Unlike the previous part, The Dark Tower is now located underground and looks even more sinister and epic. It can also be improved, which in turn gives certain bonuses. Now we can have as many as three favorites, one of which we can give preference to.
The plot has become even more global. The Empire, which is a parody of the Roman Empire, gradually took over the lands and captured almost all the fairy creatures, including the minions. The Overlord travels throughout the fairy tale world to find his minions, build a powerful army and deal a crushing blow to the Empire. Now we will be able to control a ship and take part in sea battles, fight in the arena against monsters, and capture and destroy entire cities. The game has choices on which the ending depends. The overlord now has a balance scale where he can choose a chaotic or more cold-blooded path.
The first part was a great game for its time. The second has become even better, more interesting, and more fun in almost every aspect.

An excellent game with an unusual setting that allows you to take the place of a dark lord who controls an army of minions and decides the fate of the world.
Games don't often give you the opportunity to play with the dark side, so Overlord is a unique game in this regard. The game has a fascinating fairy-tale atmosphere with satire and dark humor in the style of Terry Pratchett. The game is a parody of the image of the dark overlord in popular culture. Gnarl's comments, jokes, and comic situations give this game its own unique charm.
The game has interesting and unique mechanics. In addition to controlling the overlord himself, the game focuses on controlling minions. With one wave of the hand, the army of demonic creatures rushes forward, breaking, destroying, killing, and plundering everything in its path. The control system allows you to give orders to certain minions in more detail. There are four types of minions, each of which has unique features. In addition, they can level up on their own in battles, becoming veterans and real killing machines. They can put on any broken item, weapon, or piece of armor, but this can only be seen in detail on brown minions.
In addition to hand-to-hand combat skills, the overlord himself has a set of spells that can be strengthened over time. Also, while traveling through locations, you can find improvements for the armor or weapons of the overlord, which can later be forged into your Dark Tower. Each location has its own secrets and passages that can be opened later after returning there with new minions. Almost everything that is on the locations can be broken in search of gold or other resources. Even houses can be broken into and destroyed from the inside, taking out all the goods.
Despite the humor and some frivolity, the game has an interesting plot with its deep lore. It begins with almost nothing to explain. We learn the whole plot and the history of the character as we progress through the game. But until the very end of the game, the personality of the main character is shrouded in a fog of mystery. And that's cool.
During the passage, the hero will have the opportunity to make one or another choice, which will depend on the end of the game and the overall status of the overlord. For example, you can rescue captured elves, or leave them to be eaten by giant slugs. Give food to hungry villagers, or take it for yourself, etc. Thus, in the game, there is an opportunity to be both light and dark or neutral overlord. This is also reflected in the appearance of the character. Raising Hell DLC allows you to expand the story and links the first and second parts of the game.
This is a unique and awesome game that allows you to feel like a truly powerful Overlord.

The continuation of the series turned out to be much weaker than the first part.
The gameplay focuses on exploring spacious and almost empty locations. To improve the character's arsenal and abilities, now you have to go through the tones of different trash. Things almost do not differ from each other except for the color and a small difference in numbers. Most things are junk, which is worse than what you have already. I ran most of the game with a weapon I found somewhere at the beginning of the second act because it was always better than the junk that drops from enemies and chests.
There are too many puzzles here. They are found at almost every turn and greatly slow down the process of passing the game. Not all of these puzzles are interesting.
Graphically, the game has not changed much and looks just as good as the first part.
The plot of the game develops very slowly at the beginning and too fast at the end of the game. The story seems to be not bad, but it ends so abruptly that it is not clear why it was so much to delay the game before that. It seems that the developers got too carried away creating puzzles for the first levels and fell behind schedule. Therefore, they were forced to speed up the second half of the game as much as possible.
In general, it turned out weak and uninteresting.

A dynamic, brutal slasher with pathos, cool characters, a good plot, and various puzzles.
The main character looks as cool as possible. The main character looks as cool as possible. He also has an interesting arsenal and skills, including transforming into a giant demonic monster. All this can be upgraded over time.
Bosses also look cool and require appropriate tactics.
The plot has nothing to do with the Bible and is based on the comic book of the same name. It is interesting to follow the development of history. The game's graphic is also made in comic style and looks decent.
The game is filled with a variety of puzzles and secrets that are in each location. Sometimes it is quite not easy to pass them.
As a result, the game turned out to be a cool and fun slasher.

The sequel that fans of the first game have been waiting for. But the second part failed to surpass the original. Although the gameplay has remained at the same entertaining level, in terms of the plot, the game has degraded.
The main character has new abilities, but some of the old people from the first part are missing. And the upgrade tree itself is not so diverse. In addition to the original monsters, new ones have been added to the game and you need to apply your own tactics to each of them.
The world, divided into zones, looks interesting to explore. It is filled with events, although it lacks variety.
Graphically, the game looks good, but there are significant performance issues. Friezes are found even on powerful systems.
The main character is less interesting than in the previous part. His main motivation is revenge. And his choice as an ally of Alex Mercer is not obvious. The story itself is weak and not as interesting to explore as in the first part.
Despite some drawbacks, the continuation turned out to be not bad. I think we are unlikely to ever see the third part due to the closure of the studio.

An underrated gem that is definitely worth paying attention to. This game is one of the best representatives of this genre. Incredible superpowers, an open world, complete freedom of action, spectacular battles, and an interesting plot.
The game has a wide upgrade tree and the choice of abilities is really impressive. The player can switch the set of mutations at any time. Over time, the character evolves into a real killing machine that almost nothing can stop. Destroy the army with a direct attack, break helicopters in the air and crumple tanks like paper, or infiltrate the base unnoticed, disguise yourself as one of the military personnel and commit sabotage - the choice is yours.
Graphically, the game looks pretty good for its time. The atmosphere of New York dynamically changes from calm to a complete apocalypse.
To learn more about the story, Alex Mercer needs to absorb the DNA of people involved in the events that took place. Over time, the truth is revealed. In the end, the plot is capable of surprising.
The biggest drawback of the game can be considered an overpowered final boss, which will force you to repeatedly start a difficult battle over and over again.
Regardless, the game turned out to be great.

Graphically, the game looks pretty good. Control has some issues, but nothing critical. The new enemies look strange and often illogical. Most of them are insect-like creatures. Sometimes it is literally a cluster of insects in an anthropomorphic shape. Boss battles are interesting but they appear quite rarely.
The game has several story campaigns that differ significantly in style. At some point they all intersect. Events take place in chronological order. Terrorist acts of bio-terrorists led to a series of events.
The game has new characters with their own story, which will develop during the game. Sometimes it develops very slowly. The plot has both interesting moments and rather stupid ones.
Not the worst part of the Resident Evil series, but it has many flaws.

Despite the general criticism, this game is not that bad. Fun gameplay from the first part. There are now even more ways to kill zombies. The process was diversified by combining different types of weapons and additional types of attacks. Also, there are new types of enemies in the game with their own tactics. The story is not bad and also has multiple endings.
The only thing that greatly spoils the impression and evaluation of the game is frankly terrible optimization on PC. Therefore, I cannot recommend this game to everyone.

This game is one of the best zombie sandbox games ever made. The gameplay is pretty fun and exciting. There are so many ways for zombie killing that you can spend a lot of time discovering them all. The only reason to continue following the story is a strict time limit. The story has many endings and you must put effort to get the better one. And the reward is worth it. The graphics look ok for those times. The game sometimes freezes in scenes with a large horde of zombies. It happened on the PC.
Highly recommended.

A good continuation of the original part, which added some innovations. Nevertheless, this part is not much better than the previous one. The game looks good even today.

One of the best zombie shooters of all time! The game is not primarily about the plot, but about the action. A reference example of survival during the zombie apocalypse.

The worst part of the series both in terms of plot and gameplay. The exciting and strong atmosphere from the previous parts is gone. Now, most of the game takes place in open spaces, where there is nothing interesting.
Graphically, the game has changed little from the previous part, although some interesting effects have been added, such as the reflection of light on the surface from the suit.
The interface has not changed much, as well as the combat system.
With the improvement of weapons, in my opinion, they went a little too far and now I have to dig through a huge pile of garbage in an attempt to create a more or less effective weapon.
Enemies barely evolved. For some reason, they changed some of the enemies. For example, they replaced children with dogs. Maybe because of rating or censorship. Dogs in space are commonplace.
The story against the background of the previous parts looks weak. The single-player and cooperative modes look very strange. At first, you go through an abandoned location alone all the time, until suddenly your partner appears out of nowhere and disappears just as suddenly. And you are completely alone again. It pretty much destroys the atmosphere and impression of the game itself.
No wonder this part buried the series.

More dynamic and spectacular than the first part, but not with such a deep and interesting story.
The atmosphere in the game is still good, and the action takes place in more large-scale locations.
The graphics have received noticeable improvements and look good. By the way, the optimization of the game is at the highest level.
The interface, in the style of the first part, is now slightly expanded. More interactivity was also added in this part.
The combat system has remained almost unchanged. Only trampling on corpses can now be even more active.
The number of different weapons has increased, as well as the number of costumes, which now have different properties.
A few new ones have been added to the old types of enemies.
In general, a worthy continuation of the first part.

Quality survival horror in a spaceship drifting in cold dead space.
The game has a strong atmosphere that influences you throughout the game. All locations are designed to the smallest detail. Each location is different and has its own meaning.
The interface, located right in the game, gives a sense of presence. Health indicators are directly on the suit, and the navigation menu opens in the form of a hologram from a handheld computer.
The combat system with cutting off the enemy's limbs is quite original. You can do this with the help of different types of weapons, each of which has two types of attack: standard and alternative. It can also be upgraded, just like your own suit.
The game has many different and original enemies with their own characteristics and tactics. Almost everyone should have their own approach.
The game has a strong and very interesting plot with unexpected twists. The story keeps you in suspense until the very end.
Dead Space is a first-rate video game horror, that definitely deserves attention.
