Love the art style and the music, but really wasn't a fan of the movement in this game. Thankfully the game is short enough that it only really started annoying me at the end.

I was really looking forward to this one after the Steam Next Fest Demo, and it mostly met or exceeded my expectations. The only thing I was a little disappointed by was how janky it could feel in some instances - there were two times I got stuck and had to reset to a checkpoint, and multiple times where my character froze in place until I jumped.

Otherwise, though, really quite good. Beautiful art style, an interesting narrative told primarily through old notes and letters, and the climbing itself is super fun. They introduce a lot of mechanics to keep it feeling fresh. Later areas are really gorgeous, and I found myself struggling not to use screenshots of them for the card since they'd be a bit of a spoiler. I will say that the story is super missable - I was able to mostly piece it together through the notes, but some notes are significantly more important than others. There are two or three in particular that I think missing could cause you to be completely unaware of why the events of the game unfolded.

I beat the developer's other game, Quadrata, earlier this year, and I am pleased to say that Lovux is on par if not slightly better than Quadrata. The game features glass blocks that you can slide around tracks. Your goal is to destroy all of the glass blocks in a given level by activating the blocks with arrows. These will crash into blocks and destroy all blocks in a straight line.

Lots of fun mechanics introduced as the puzzles go on, and I found myself getting stumped a few times later on and had to come back to solve them later. I couldn't get a Steam Deck control scheme that was quite great; everything worked, but it was kind of awkward to control. Easier on PC with an actual mouse, I felt.

Finished all the bonus levels as well!
