Sega hired that man but this time he has a fetish for ice physics

This game is just as good, if not better than the original. Its far more frantic, zany, and off the wall than the original. If the first is about slowly building to bigger and bigger scope until you conquer the world We Love is about doing whatever you can think of with the concept. Every level is a new idea and theme and gameplay style that's fresh new and fun but not as consistent. None of them are bad though! (Except for the fucking cowbear level that one sucks) This game also does that Chrono Trigger thing where the final boss is accessible from the very start and you have to build up to facing it. Sweet!

As a remaster its fantastic! Beautiful HD textures, crisp audio, and buttery smooth controls. Just so good.

Overall just as good as the first but I think I like the first just a tiny bit better. I think its the OST, I prefer the first just a tad

Its tough to rate FS/N fairly for a few reasons to me. First and foremost is the juggernaut of a franchise it spawned. Fate is one of the most successful and massive franchises of its genre and it can be hard to remember this started as an ambitious story and not the beginning of a decade-long franchise.
This game has been a 4 year journey, I've played it on and off for longer than any other story-based game, so as a whole, it feels a bit hazy. Despite that, I really did enjoy it
The first route, Stay/Night is a solid start that heavily emphasizes establishing ideas and characters and playing by the rules. Its simple, but the arc between Shirou and Saber hits very hard. Even if Shirou acts like a sexist prick thanks to his martyr complex.
The second route, Unlimited Blade Works, is far and away my favorite. With Archer and Shirous's dynamic and story are so well done and poignant. Fantastic stuff there. Berserker is simply built better
The final route (and the freshest in my mind) Heveans Feel is probably my least favorite. Sakuras story doesn't feel as tasteful as it probably should have and her and Shirou can't keep it in their pants its crazy. But still fulfills a great conclusion.
Overall FS/N is keen to leave no story beat unexplored. Any and every rule it establishes is broken completely and cleanly, the story always curveballs at moments that leave the characters heading in a direction completely new.
I think 4.5/5 may be a bit nice to it for its amount of 2000s anime bullshit, and being an eroge (TBH when highschool me downloaded this from 4chan thinking the sex scenes would be a funny joke, he was not planning on college me groaning to death when Sakura and Shirou can't be mature for a full day.) They really suck not a fan! The rerelease removes em I think should have played that.
With that rant out of the way, yeah its good.

I don't think any run of games vibe harder than Capcom fighters from the 90s

This was shockingly well written I am genuinely at a loss for words

The NU art has no soul though

Very cute, silly little visual novel. I liked it! Was very charming

I played this while reading in a call while playing cookie clicker, a VN, and watching family guy funny moments all at the same time. A transformative experience.

Awesome concept, fun time with friends, would like to play more.

It's hard to really convey how much VA-11 Hall-A affected me. Its mood, tone, and story all work so well in tandem with each other that even 3 years after playing it for the first time I am struck with deep memories about having played it, and just exactly where I was when I did. A lot of this game was played either at 1 AM in the morning or in the 90-degree weather of a concessions stand at a sleepy pool club. Either place I felt at home and connected to the grimy, depressing, near-hopeless yet joyful, bright, and loving world VA-11 Hall-A presents, but Jill Stingray has little interest in.

Many games I balk at going back to, in fear that what a younger me praised, loved, and resonated with no longer would reach an older me. (I call this the Danganronpa Effect) But I have no fear about it here—just an extraordinary game.

Now THIS is peak videogame

So I got some ultra-cursed copy of this shitfest where the lighting was so absurdly dark and impossible to see that I couldn't pass the bird section. What the hell.
