Peak Golf

A game whose atmosphere is one of the best I have had the pleasure to experience in recent memory. Whose areas are memorable, solum, and beautiful. But whose linear, rather simple puzzles and lackluster combat hold it back a bit for me.

Thankfully it knows the perfect time to end itself, and manages to stay its welcome for just the right amount of time. A real treat.

1:59 hours into this game: "These are some of the clunkiest controls put into a video game. No one moves how you'd like, the game flow is constantly interrupted, and it feels like tug of war to move right."

2:00 hours into this game: "holy shit I get it."

I think the number betrays how I feel about it just a bit. Yumecore is far from amazing, and it wasn't super fun. But it is a game that I was very charmed by, and one I'd recommend to anyone who feels charmed by its play. It's barely 2 hours long so it is not a commitment by any stretch!

This is a very charming entry in a very charming series. I mean, its got bad apple!

That being said. I opened it on a whim and 1cc'd with 2 lives left on my first run. Is it just super easy on normal? or am I just a gamer? I would like to think the latter!

I think its funny to play this game directly after the AI takeover of the past year, and also after a very intense and heated discourse of if Portal 2 was or invented 2012 humor. (this game is heavy evidence for the latter)

Charming spot the difference with some fun jump scares and clever easter eggs. There is one trick in this that made me think I was going insane though it was absolutely nuts

I played this game with a bunch of friends halfway through a read-along of the entire Higurashi series. We did the whole thing in character, and our playstyles ended up matching how our characters played. I have never felt more connected, and yet out of body, playing a game before.
