How do you feel about hell hounds?

hm... i think that might be an edge case, like the dog-people in Breath of Fire. there are some games whose "dog-people" wouldn't make it on this list, but Breath of Fire's are honest enough for it to fly. i feel like a hell hound would require a similar case-by-case ruling

Great list! Dragon Age: Origins has a canine party member who can do most of the things the bipedal party members can.

... does the dog island count as an rpg? In my heart it does.

Shadow Hearts Covenant has a wolf if that counts?

Unfortunately wolves do not count I'm so so sorry. But it is very funny to call The Dog Island and RPG so it will be included

Alright, Midnight Suns has a playable hell hound for certain missions, aside from fire breathing she's treated as a pet dog.

Shadowrun Dragonfall has a dog that becomes playable towards the end of the game after they turn into an awakened hell hound.
