Few games on the TurboGrafx are genuinely awful. Vigilante is, easily, one of those games. It is a repetitive game that relies on the worst tricks in beat-em-ups, even to beat the first level, only to face several other bosses that can ignore your attacks (and, as an extra F U, regenerate health).

There is nothing redeeming about a game like this, with bland visuals and undercooked gameplay. Vigilante is a perfect example of a game designed to bleed you dry in the arcade, with little effort added to make it a viable home port.

I hate everything about this game, with every fiber of my being.

A decent port that looks better than most, but falls flat with the audio.

Even with the quality-of-life additions that are included in the Pixel Remaster, this is a rough game to return to. Limited story, wonky mechanics, and nothing that stands out. While it is great to relive the game that started it all, by modern standards, it simply doesn't capture my imagination as it once did.
