I started the game during the summer, played up to the middle of episode 2, and didn’t touch it for like 5 months. It’s not because I didn’t like the game, but because I had so much going on and other games I wanted to play. Eventually, early this month, I got the urge to pick up the game again, and blasted through the rest of it in 2 weeks.
Wow, what a game. It does start off slow, but as you progress through each chapter, the game just gets better and better with the more tools that you acquire to make traversal more than just walking. Once I was past episode 3, I was gripped the rest of the way through the game right up until the very end.
This really is a Kojima game all the way through, with lots of cutscenes and some wacky lines throughout the game (such as the infamous “Mario and Princess Beach” line, which I think is kind of funny honestly).
In my opinion, this game is incredible. If you want to play it for yourself, please just get past episode 3, the game really picks up after that and becomes even better of an experience.
