Mainly reviwing the story, gameplay is very fun so far if not a little lacking in the weapons department, but a little early to give a full criticism. Salmon run great as always, haven't seen any new ones but hope they added new events. The story is clearly inspired heavily from octo expansion, which is great, but the levels in the middle dragged like hell. It feels like a lot of them were multi-weapon when they shouldn't have been, and there were too little short fun gimmick levels, filled with mostly just kinda get to the end, i still had fun but it was a bit draining.

While I thouroughly enjoyed my time with this game, I've got a ton of issues with it. The biggest issues are the dungeons, and the lack of meaningful quests. Apart from these two issues, there were a few frankly poorly made boss encounters, but everything else was lovely. This is the best looking SMT game, maybe tied with persona 5, this game looks fantastic in every way. The characters are very enjoyable, although there weren't that many of them. The story, also felt smaller scale but I enjoyed the underground feeling of it. My biggest issue with the story is the fact that, just like soul hackers 1, this game does not make use of the fact that they are soul hacking. In soul hackers 1, I felt like more of a hacker at least, but thats giving a bit of credit. In this game the name "Soul Hackers" felt as tacked on as it did in the first game, and I wish they did more with the concept. The sabbaths were fun, although I wish they were a bit more complex, and not being able to negotiate with demons normally is a big kick in the foot for this game. Other then those issues, this game was lovely, and I'm looking forward too what the devil summoner series has in store, as seeing devil summoners in a setting where they are underground but not apocalyptic has been intriguing to me from the beginning!

god so many ass mechanics, the story felt like it was severely lacking by just being 100% comprised of dungeons, same issues with every early smt game but worse, and if I didn't have save states this game would probably be a 1/10

God damn this game is so strange, I think my score may go higher if i were to try and A rank all the levels, but thats a big maybe. The gunplay was surprisingly satisfying, and shadow felt mostly good to control. The biggest issues with this game are the repetition and horrific levels. Take it from me, if you play this game get one of the 5 routes endings, then download a full save file to do the final boss. The levels can range from 1 minute to 30 depending on what you need to do for them. I really wish I could have enjoyed this more, and if the levels were more thought out this game could be one of the greats.

First off, my biggest issue with this game was the fact that my playthrough was riddled with glitches, which is something that WILL be fixed. The artstyle and aesthetics for this game are immaculate, the dungeon crawling is a bit generic but still fun, the cult section felt a little underdeveloped, like having all these people didn't amount t anything besides gaining a stat point every few days, maybe some materials on a good day. Still, pretty fun!

This game may have the best alignment choices of any SMT game, tge gameplay is fun and interesting, the story, setting, and characters are near perfect, the only issue I have is the difficulty spike near the end, where at earlier points I felt like I could just fuse and get better skills, by the end I was so insanely underleveled by playing the game correctly that I had to grind for multiple hours, which was not fun. That is honestly my only issue with this game though.

I've got... a lot of issues with this game despite how high I rank it. Simply put the reason I enjoyed myself this much is because the gameplay felt good to move around in. It felt good to hit, it felt good to fight, it felt good to explore. My biggest issue with this game is the lack of a map. I always found myself lost, and couldn't explore without backtracking and checking every nook and cranny because the game refused to tell me where I was at any point. When I got a powerup, I didn't think "oh! I can check out all those areas this would be useful in!" because i was too busy trying to think about where I can go next at any point without this powerup, trying to store all this information was impossible, at least for me. On the topic of powerups, they're mostly not great. The two torch ones, while interesting, are bogged down by using the torch feeling clunky, the wall jump always felt a little off, but the air dash felt amazing to use and loved it. The bosses were mostly all ok. Mainly easy but I enjoyed my time with most of them, save for like 2. I had no idea the final boss was the end of the game, he was kind of just a dude. I had fun, but this game is very flawed in my eyes

A simply pleasant RPG with a remarkable message for a game originally released on the SNES. Innovative gameplay that shocked me time and time again with how fresh it felt throughout. Every time period felt like it belonged, and the characters within them were not only loveable, but complex and fun! Sometimes I wish the game would be a little harder, and some portions dragged on a bit too long because of that lack of challenge, but this is a fantastic time I could reccomend do any fan of modern RPG's, seeing as it clearly influenced so much.

Run and gun levels are fucking ass and this games one saving grace is that you can skip them all. Half the bosses are way too easy, and the other half are hard in an annoying way, not in a challenging way. King Dice is horrible, and I beat the devil on my first try. Candy Queen can get it though

It's really hard to describe how I feel about this one. Knowing that there is a direct sequel to a game with characters I care so much about, where those characters do not star in it, with an ending that is literally just a cliffhanger and nothing else, it soured my entire experience with the game. I loved the party, every party member brought something fun to the table, the gameplay was alright, but the difficulty was way too low on the psp version. While persona 1 had me playing all the way through in like 3 sessions due to its interesting setting, this felt like more of a slog to get through, despite enjoying the characters and spesific story more. Personally think that it could do without like a quarter or even half of the dungeons, condesning them into better, bigger dungeons.

fun game, i loved the characters and story, but the character position system was just kind of annoying and was tiring by the end, the setting was super fun, school apocalyptic setting. overall, pretty fun!

This game, while fun, was bogged down by the strange demon loyalty mechanic, while the story seemed to go nowhere. I enjoyed the characters, but it feels like you just went through dungeons over and over, leaving character development to short scenes, and I would have gladly traded a bit of the dungeon crawling for more story and characters.

It was neat, it had great themes and writing, but its bogged down by wanting to be so replayable while having mechanics that are so anti replayability, kind of annoying and stopped me from replaying as much as I would otherwise.
