Excellent gameplay, but suffers from this stupid craze of making the game "hardcore" by making it's bosses frustratingly hard by inflating their health to dummy levels. And it's on top of throwing adds at the player, difficult to avoid boss attacks, and giving us little ammo.
The difference in difficulty between regular levels and boss fights was honestly baffling. And you can't even change the difficulty mid-playthrough ffs. Why?
I suffered through until the final boss, died like 20 times without even getting to the second stage, gave up, and watched the ending on YT.
I guess I kinda am proud of making it to the final boss, but I'd be proud of not dying of colon cancer too. Doesn't mean I'd enjoy having it.

Played this game when I was real depressed. I think you know what happened. This game cheered me up so much.

Probably one of the silliest, most absurd games I've ever played, if not THE most... and I loved it because of it. The game takes one single mechanic and messes around with it in ways I never expected, adding lots of different elements, game references and lots of cool gimmicks which all have one thing in common: they're sure to make you laugh, at least release some sort of audible nasal air stream. Like, really, it's one of those games you DON'T get tired of playing because you just want to see what kind of joke or reference the developers came up with for the next level. And to top it all, I didn't come across any annoying or unfair levels. It's all kept nicely fun and fair throughout 5-6 hours. A game I'll definitely come back to if I ever have a bad day.

I was hoping that I'd really love this game but everything about it was offputting. I put 6 hours into it, which I think is a fair shake. Let's start with the story and characters- pretty by the numbers. You have to investigate why a bunch of bad things is happening and animals are becoming monsters. Your two main characters seem to be your typical jrpg protagonists. The writing is pretty weird at times. There were a few instances during my play that I thought aloud "who the f*** wrote this?" For example, my two characters leave a house, say 2 sentences, then the owner of the house comes out and says something "oh, what are you guys still doing here?" I left a second ago! Minor gripe but there were a few other similar things.
The gameplay... was not up my alley. In my withering age (34) maybe AJRPGS just don't suit me. Sometimes your party can get completely buttfed in a matter of seconds. The game knows this and offers you a chance to retry the battle which is nice... but I'd rather not get repeatedly buttfed.

What I did like: the weird amount of customization and skills you can delve into. Random things like writing and art, however I don't fully know what benefits they give. I also liked the "private actions," which are entirely skippable bonding scenes between characters that can affect your ending. And finally the game is pretty.

The game that made me fall in love with digging for hidden gems. This game is pouring with passion. It's a concept that never should've worked but they filled this game with love and passion.

I really wanted to give this a 3 and a half star because I really do think this game is a blast but lord does it have issues. To get this out of the way I really enjoy this game its a lot of fun! the core gameplay loop is fun and I wish this game would make a return in any form or shape because there aren't a lot of games like Pursuit force.

Anyways! Most of my complaints really boil down to bugs, sometimes terrible control and downright unfair and annoying levels.

This game really was unique for its time as the gameplay loop has you driving at highspeeds in which when you are near an enemies car you can jump onto their car and highjack it. There are on foot segments but they are very basic and just get the job done with you autolocking onto enemies and shooting at them. Its simple brainless fun but even for a PS5 version this game had a surprising amount of issues. To start controlling motorcycles is near impossible as even bumping into anything will send you into a frantic out of control spree causing you to hit everything and sometimes just losing ALL control of a motorcycle. The same thing applies with cars but cars control league tons better so it isn't as bad since you can gain control again pretty quickly. Past that there are points where my car would just go out of bounds of the map or sometimes even under the map causing for very awkward situations and sometimes frustrating ones.

The later levels of the game become downright unfair as the game wants you do objectives pretty much flawlessly and if you mess up for 5-10 seconds that very much can cost you the whole mission. The level pool in general is very basic as all games pretty much have the same mission loop which I started noticing near the end which honestly wasn't the biggest issue.

Past the story mode there are trials, races but I never found them fun at all so I only did what I needed to do for trophies and moved on. Speaking on story there is one but it isn't that good but I mean what can you really expect story wise this game sole focus is the fun gameplay. To boil it down gangs do bad things ... stop them.

I did achieve the platinum trophy its very easy so that was nice not having to do anything outlandish for it the trophy list is very straight forward.

Overall this was a game from my childhood that I am very glad to see put onto the PS5 I just really wish past them making it look nicer that they weeded out the bugs and annoyances of this game more. Overall if you have the PS+ sub you mine as well try it !

I like beat 'em ups, I like card games, I like turn based strategy and I like rouge likes, heck, I even like black & white games. Mixing up everything sounds like a good idea, turns out: it isn't. I don't like this game at all.

Such a charming world with great characters and fun gameplay. This is not the type of game that is usually up my alley but I really enjoyed it. However I would have preferred the combat not to have been synced to the beat of the music. I was never able to fully jive with it because of that. Still a really good game.

This is so hard up my alley. A cute, short, pixel art, touching story, whimsical, engaging story, with a relationship that is not quite sad dad territory but close enough. I enjoyed my 5 hours playing the game. There is an ending at the 3 hour mark but that's not the full ending.

There is no exploration in this game. You go from screen to screen by choosing it on the map. Also there are basically only boss battles which means you are always as leveled as the developer wants you to be. This is good in concept but I feel the gameplay is a bit underbaked. They don't start doing interesting things by putting little mini games in the battles until near the end. The game uses battles as a way to also deliver story which is great but I feel the battle system in general holds the game back a bit.

Overall a really cool world and touching story. Is it an amazing world and story? I wouldn't go that far but if, like me, this sounds up your alley you'd probably enjoy it.
