Griffin_NE completed Genshin Impact
I am cringe, but I am free.

This game sucks, but I play it anyways. Its core is fun, its story can be good sometimes, but there's so many layers of gacha-isms keeping you away from that core. I wish Hoyoverse would examine what makes their game tick and really expand on that, other than just putting out Content:tm: every month.

Griffin_NE completed Minecraft
Minecraft is a game that's theoretically infinite, and the way the community has kept it alive since its release is incredible, but infinite user-generated content is only really fun up to a point. In recent years I've had a lot of fun playing this game modded with friends, but I can't remember the last time I had any desire to play just regular Minecraft.

Griffin_NE completed AFK Journey
If you want a game to just turn your brain off to and watch numbers go up, this is the one. The art is nice, the characters are cool, the animations are flashy, and teambuilding is surprisingly in-depth. It gets very grindy very quickly and progress starts to slow way down, but if that's your thing, this is the game for you.

Griffin_NE completed Fate/Grand Order: Cosmos in the Lostbelt
The story of the Lostbelts? Incredible. The characters in the Lostbelts? Outstanding. How come a gacha game gets to be peak fiction. Only issue is that you need to play through all of Part 1 to get here, and man Part 1 sucks to play through.

Griffin_NE completed Fate/Grand Order
FGO is one of the oldest of the gachas that are still popular and man does it show. Part 1 is not good up until Camelot, and then suddenly Babylonia is peak. If you're willing to suffer through hours of boring story and monotonous grinding to get to the good stuff sure, otherwise stay away.

Griffin_NE reviewed Guilty Gear: Strive
My favorite fighting game to play currently. The balance team still hasn't quite figured things out at the top level, and top tiers in the hands of players who know what they're doing wreak havoc, but in casual play this game is just fun man. The systems are open ended enough to allow pretty much anyone to feel cool, the characters are designed incredibly well with obvious strengths and weaknesses, and the music is top tier. Would recommend to anyone who's even remotely interested.

Griffin_NE completed Elden Ring
Everything about this game is so close to being perfect. As an avid FromSoftware fan, Elden Ring delivered on its world, story, art direction, items, build options, everything in impeccable fashion. What holds it back just slightly from being a masterpiece is this: I don't find most bosses fun to fight. Their patterns are interesting, their combos are crazy, and their fights are spectacular, but as a player it's just so hard to find an opening in the pattern sometimes. Slave Knight Gael in Dark Souls 3 felt like an incredible back and forth between two epic figures at the end of the world, while fighting bosses here feels messy and panicked until I suddenly just win.
