played the first plague tale game in preparation for this one coming to game pass only to find out you need a GTX 2000 series and an i7 at least to run it at a relatively smooth and stable rate so ill play it properly once I get around to upgrading my rig :(

Mario Kart but just worse and full of microtransactions and live service junk mechanics

For me, Inside was an improved iteration on the formula introduced in Limbo. the puzzles are fun yet not usually obvious, the atmosphere was great, and the end sequence was definitely weird but very enjoyable

on the one hand, this game is largely an improvement over the original and was a huge game for casual fighting games. However from the perspective of the FGC and more seasoned fighting game players, this game is broken by an overabundance of zoning. very solid story mode though like always from NetherRealm

the precursor to one of the most games ever conceived, Portal 1 is still a great puzzle game, but just feels inherently less unique than its successor, since it only begins to engage the story towards the end imo

As someone was inspired to get into a career in game development cuz of Kojima, I have an interesting view of Death Stranding. my bias aside, I know that this game has very little appeal to the general audience and is fundamentally flawed/unfun in a lot of ways. and yet I can't help but still enjoy the shit out of this game and treat it as a relaxing game for me to immerse in and get swept up in the atmosphere. I can't say whether you will enjoy or hate the niche appeal of it, but its enough for me.

just like blue shift, this is just more of the same half life 1 experience with slightly different weapons and from the perspectives of a different side character's story. but the idea of squad control makes this one at least a little more unique than blue shift

a solid expansion for those who want more of the half-life 1 experience with a fairly decent progression of story given its short lifespan. overall if you want more half-life, you get more half life, no less, but nothing more

I... I don't even think I have words that could ever completely wtf this game is

While I didn't pay too much attention the story on this first playthrough since I am not a LOTR fan, I did still give this game a chance on the grounds of how many GOTY awards and nominations I remember it getting. what I discovered was a hybrid of Assassin's Creed and Arkham style combat with a touch of the Witcher series with a unique albeit somewhat tedious Nemesis/enemy system. overall the experience was solid regardless

For me this was a revisit of a game that I discovered and enjoyed years prior between middle and high school when I first became interested in Mafia and Gangster films and media. going back to it now I was hit by a surprising amount of nostalgia but also was able to more clearly see the game's gameplay issues and some story pacing issues and the game's empty world map. However the game excels where it needs to for a mafia story, which is the dynamics between all of the characters, giving a great story that takes inspiration from both Coppola and Scorsese films alike. And so if you do decided to play this game, this is definitely the version to play

A puzzle platformer that simultaneously manages to be cute and eerie all at the same time without compromising either aesthetic. the puzzles are mostly straightforward and flow well, and the various areas feel distinct enough from each other, even if the plot does well like it needs a bit more explanation at times

As a remaster, both of these titles provide a sufficient enough visual and performance upgrade and the value of all the possible content in both games. However, I cant fully recommend it for retail price unless you dont own or have access to the original GOTY versions of the games

while I don't believe it has aged particularly well in terms of gameplay and systems design, the creative direction and ideas behind DoubleFine's debut game remains as impressive as ever, with brilliant writing and outstanding art direction.

Still my personal favorite AC game, while it does not have the strongest identity as an AC game, it still proves to be a quality open world pirate simulator with one of my favorite video game stories of all time
