TTYD was my favorite game from my childhood. How the remake came to exist in 2024, 20 years later is baffling to me. It was a conspiracy, a meme in of itself. Anyways, imho, they really outdid themselves and genuinely made a definitive version of one of the greatest RPGs. There was some personal stuff I had to get used to, like adjusting myself to the 30 fps and like 2 or 3 boss themes I didn't feel really match the original vibe, but overall every other improvement was positive. So much small QOL stuff that goes the extra mile to ease new players in. TTYD is one of the most unique and out-there Mario stories ever told, and I hope future games in the series harken back to these elements as well as continue the grand return of the RPG turn-based formula. One for the ages, here.
