This game was just good fun. A great start to a series that I plan to complete. Claustrophobia done right. Wide cast of villains and memorable moments. Killer Croc in the sewers was one of my favorites. Scarecrow moments were dope as hell too. The combat is classic, I mean come on. How many games has arkham inspired. Reading the character bios and seeing the art actually made me wanna solve the riddles too. I did get stuck a few times with exploration but that’s mostly a skill issue on my part. The only thing I didn’t like too much was the backtracking and getting lost within it. The game sometimes doesn’t make it clear where to go which I personally find frustrating. Besides the final boss being a little disappointing, this game was awesome, even if I don’t see myself going back to it.

Game is so goated, it really refines everything from the previous games, even on a handheld. Blah blah blah saved the franchise, well here’s the deal: it really did. Dope ass cast, semi-isekai but they lose that shit and you grow with the characters. Battles are smooth as shit and you’re able to speed up whenever you want. Hard classic is the sweet spot. OST goes hard and the story ain’t bad at all. Really got into the game as a whole. It only falls flat in the fact that you can make Robin a tank and trivialize any enemies to the point that you feel bad. But that doesn’t mean you can play blindly cause you don’t wanna lose your units. I reset a lot in this game but honestly on my next game, I don’t think I will cause once I started letting my units die for real towards the end, it felt heroic when every unit died in the last chapter. Overall good ass game

2023 goty, wish it was longer. Had so much fun playing this one. Gameplay is buttery smooth, graphics look amazing, and the story is awesome. It’s everything you could want from a new Spider-Man game. Fluid combat is a very important thing to me and Insomniac never disappoints. Swinging is 2X faster and never felt better. I’m a performance over fidelity guy and the game still looked great so I wouldn’t even bother with fidelity. The story had me engaged from start to finish. I love Spider-Man but don’t even know all the different villains from the comics so I appreciate Insomniac bringing out these enemies for me to learn more about. I really felt for the characters. Hearing evil Peter was funny as hell but it was fucking awesome when I heard the venom sounds coming from the controller in combat. I only have a few nitpicks like bugs, length, and certain side missions. I encountered quite a few bugs throughout the game that made me restart my checkpoint such as getting stuck in certain spots and Spider-Man turning into a white cube, funny enough. A few of the side missions were boring such as the Brooklyn Visions and the catching bees. I don’t know, it just kinda took me out of the fast paced story. I know I’m not forced to do them, so I saved them for after I finished the story. And last but not least, the length. I really wish the story was longer. It felt about half the length of the first game which is kinda sad since they improved so much. Hoping for some dlc!

Fuck golden freddy. Getting the patterns down was satisfying in the end but it’s just too damn difficult to hear in the game even with headphones at max volume. I think it has something to do with the port. It’s a fun game but it’s hard as nails.

A very interesting game. I heard a lot of shittalking about it but having beaten it, I can say I enjoyed it. Fighting with the exp system was very memorable. They really put the tools in your hand to choose how you want your characters to be. Firion was a swordsman/buffer, Maria was a black magician/healer, and Guy was a physical brute with status spells. They let me create my adventure, and I did exactly that. They story isn’t amazing or anything but I did enjoy the tale of the Emperor, he was pretty cool. It’s nice having an overarching figure that builds up and you can eventually slay with satisfaction. Except if you have the blood sword. That weapon ruined the ending for me since I took out the emperor in 3 hits. I loaded up a save right after I won and tried the whole fight over again and eventually was satisfied. So do yourself a favor and give this a shot. It might not be as polished as later entries but it’s certainly the Zelda 2 of FF.

A game that truly wowed me. Played this a few months after beating the original game and just had to say, what they’re creating is incredible. This is the first part of a 3 game series and the fact they made a 5 hour section of the game into 35 hours is incredible. I truly loved this game. They’re laying down a foundation for what could be some of the greatest rpgs ever made. The active/command battle system, beautiful visuals, engaging new story different from the original while still calling back, music, this is just amazing. I can’t wait for what Rebirth has in store.

A very solid dlc. Lasted me a bit over four hours in which I’m highly satisfied about compared to some past dlcs I’ve played. This expansion took one of the most underrated characters and one of my personal favorites and put her in the forefront of her own journey. Completely intact with her quirkiness from the original game, this dlc shines with the combat. Yuffie Kisaragi is very fun to play, as well as her partner Sonon. Their chemistry in battle had me timing up synergies and comboing Shinra goons into oblivion. The story wasn’t anything crazy but I do appreciate the callbacks to what I found out was Dirge of Cerberus, a game I have yet to finish as of writing. Overall, I highly recommend this dlc for anyone who’s played the base game. Even if you think it’s a dumb side story, you’re gonna wanna stick around for the scenes at the end.

A game I hyped so much. Everything caught my eyes. The Kaneko designs, cel-shaded graphics, Meguro music, all that good shit. And while it had all of that, I had placed a little too much hope in actually liking what I played. The gameplay system has potential but just feels overall clunky to play today but I do like the devouring system. The music is one of the saving graces, Shoji Meguro is a mastermind. Every ten steps is a random encounter, kind of annoying and you need to grind in this game, even when you fight every encounter. A lot of this is fixed in the sequel but this game would definitely benefit from a remaster with quality of life changes such as a reduced encounter rate, toggle on/off, and fast forward. Knowing Atlus, one or none of those will be included, but we can hope.

Damn, I thought 7 was pretty good in its minimalistic yet interesting lore, this just takes it to the next level. The whole game felt strange compared to the last one but upon completion, everything comes full circle. Combat is very customizable with various types of weapons, upgrades, and modifications. Characters for the most part are pretty damn memorable. The main 4 bosses were hit or miss for me. I loved the first and the last dungeon but the two middle ones were so pitiful and short that I kinda forgot about em. Wish they made Dimitrescu play an even bigger (pls laugh) threat in the story like the promos were making it seem. Ethan is a great protagonist in this game and they gave him more of an identity and purpose in this game compared to the last one. I would joke with my gf about his voice lines in the last game and how he reacted so trivial to some intense situations but in Village, we were really rooting for him this time around. The music was nothing to write home about cause it was more atmospheric except I loved the intro and credits songs with the storybook. The aesthetic is always there with this game. Kind of a “Wintery” setting (pls laugh) and I loved the dark wings motif all the way from the game’s disc, to the title screen, all the way to enemies in the game. This is a very thematic RE with hella hype moments and very good exposition that only makes me want more.

Favorite game I ever played through.

Strangest game I’ve ever played. Mostly improves on the first game. I enjoyed it more for sure. The story was… addicting? I was so infatuated on seeing where the story went that I wasn’t even focused on things like dungeon design and gameplay. Character designs and cel shaded graphics were incredible though. All I remember was the game taking away party members over and over and getting fucked over because of it. The story really paid off though.

Very solid game. Gameplay kept me hooked and I genuinely was challenged at many parts of the game. Story isn’t anything to write home about and I don’t really like Rabbids but it was satisfying to complete this one.

Awesome game. Swinging is silky smooth, combat is fast and flashy and makes you feel like Spider-Man, and the story kept me hooked. Only didn’t like the lab projects. Insomniac did very right by this.

A competent game in a sense. I wanna give this game more credit than I should. It looks beautiful and the story beats are great, combat good and pretty damn satisfying but the actual gameplay loop and pacing can be so off sometimes… one of the most graphically impressive games I’ve ever seen in my life. The story is very engaging but right when you’re about to take on a republic leader, the game will send you on stupid fetch quests. Ff15 never did that which is notoriously hated. It’s like I’m being cockblocked when I just wanna do the story. The sidequests are ass and are never worth it. The loot, crafting, and xp system are just kinda stupid. I never felt like I was gonna lose no matter what equipment I had. Combat itself is smooth as shit and lots of options but it’s just too damn easy compared to other action games like dmc which have harder but more satisfying learning curves. And that’s the funny part, this is an action game. More like dmc than final fantasy. I’m calling it an action game with rpg elements. As for the pacing, I was taking on gods and shit and then when I’m done, I had to do an hour long fetch quest and I dozed off TWO times during it. I know this sounds like I’m shitting on the game but it’s like a 7.8 for me right now. Maybe my mind will change someday. I kinda had to push through it, which is something you shouldn’t have to do for a game. I feel without the fluff, more refined mechanics, and maybe shave 5-10 hours off the game, it would be a classic. Oh, and that last hour was fuckin awesome.
