Diego's Wii Recommendations

The Wii had a real bad flack on 7th gen for not having a resolution higher than 720p and their overwhelming shovelware, however there are a lot of damn fantastic titles in the little console. Here is a list of some of the best titles I've played that are just terrific.

The sequel to Treasure's acclaimed N64 rail shooter looks and feels absolutely great. Some real fine shmup-like crafting going on here.
A point-n-click adventure game at heart with Japanese manga humor, it feels like a distant cousin of One Piece, absolutely delightful and a coconut cracker.
Resident Evil 4 is not an exclusive to Wii, however this port in particular was tailored specifically for this console, and man, it just feels so gooooood.
Wario returns to score big again. Inheriting plenty of characteristics from Wario Land 4 while making a moderate use of the Wii's features, Shake It is delightfully animated by Production I.G. and his shenanigans never looked crisper.
Next Level Games saw the opportunity to bring Nintendo's original boxing game to the motion control system and did they knock a homerun with this one. While it is absolutely welcome that they give you the option to play with the sideways Wiimote imitating an NES controller, I actually recommend you to give the nunchuck mode with motion controls a chance, it's a hell of a good and fun workout.
A dead-end guy in a dead-end town gets a beam katana from the internet and takes on the world of assassination. Make your way to the top fighting eccentric psychopaths in a murderous frenzy.
Vanillaware brought up yet another spectacular game, this time set in mythological feudal Japan. In this Metroidvania fight your way through onis and powerful spirits.
Donkey Kong makes a very long awaited return of his frantic sidescrolling games much like how they were in his glory days.
Very casual and yet very damn fun, the simple motion controls are very effective. Possibly the very best game out at launch.
The Legend of Zelda celebrated its 25th anniversary with the ultimate prequel of their ever going saga.
