While I am a bit of a late bloomer when it comes to the Souls games, Demon's Souls tells me that it is perfectly normal for a boy my age to feel like this.

I can respect what Demon's Souls was going for. Without a doubt a more linear experience, but that doesn't deter me from recommending it in the slightest. Cool level locales, interesting enemy designs and a weighty combat system kept me hooked. The only slight I can muster against the game is the World Tendency feature. Intriguing concept, but practically it makes fully completing the game cumbersome.

A fitting game to start my PS5 gaming experience. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Demon's Souls Inn.

I first played Final Fantasy X from the Official PlayStation 2 Magazine (Issue 20, May 2002) demo disc. That experience was the first time a demo from a demo disc completely blew me away as a literal child.

Now, I am a grown man who fully completed his cherished childhood PS2 game on his PS4 with platinum trophy and all. No hesitation, 10/10 across the board.

Carto likes to have hot bubble baths while listening to lo-fi. Short puzzle game with a lot of charm.

Placing Far Cry 3 is tricky. COOL video gamey game moments are had, but there's too much busy work for my taste buds. I'll say this, Far Cry 3 is the cool uncle that drinks too much.

Rogue Legacy 2 wants to be loved, but during your committed relationship they become clingy and overbearing.

On top of this, the trophy list asks you to become the game's servant and makes you wish that your contract had an earlier end date.

A childhood gem remade for modern platforms. One of the best licensed video games from an era where licensed games were mostly bad.

Very interesting anime fighting game. Played through PS Plus Extra and enjoyed learning all the different characters. The majority of the time I was playing single player to mess around and achieve the platinum trophy. Only played a bit of online. Maybe I would have a different opinion if I played more online and competed at offline events? Still, a solid game worth checking out.

My teenage co-op game of choice, until Borderlands 2 released lol. Very nice to revisit this game on PS4 and playing co-op with my girlfriend. The game did show rough points that clearly needed ironing out and it made me better appreciate Borderlands 2.

Not sure what I was getting myself into with The Gardens Between, and it turned out that its nothing to write home about. Simple puzzle game, interesting mechanics, laid on with a hammy story about characters you don't care for.

Two boys on an adventure to cure their dad. The journeying of Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons makes you want to explore the world to see all its wonders.

Downwell thinks you can't beat the game. With enough perseverance, you can prove it wrong. Very arcade'y. The game expects you to complete the game on HARD mode after completing it, but I got a bit tired of playing it.

After many years, I returned Down the Well and got the platinum trophy. It was honestly just alright. Very challenging and impressive platinum to achieve.

Dodgeball Academia shows you what school would be like if it was cool and valued the game of dodgeball a bit too much.

Played this through PS Plus Extra and it was a real treat! Very simple, easy game with endearing characters. Nice game that would probably be your best friend.

I was let down by this game when I first played it on XBOX 360. I can remember it running really poorly on the hardware and it soured my first impression. Now, I fully completed it on PS4. Its not much better in performance but it was bearable.

My expectations got the best of me because I believed The Evil Within would have been on the same prestige as Resident Evil 4 or Dead Space, and it just wasn't.

The platinum trophy is very difficult because you have to complete the game on the One Hit, You Die mode called AKUMU.

A rough start, but maybe the sequel is better?
