Dante - now we have to suffer how op Dante is from the other side and man is it difficult
Ike - the chapters where the dawn brigade and the greil mercenaries fight each other are some of the best parts of radiant dawn
Kiryu - I never felt so much fear when I realized I had to fight kiryu and win
Shulk and Rex - this dlc was just pure fanservice and having to fight the two was just as great
Makoto (p3) and Yu (p4) - this is a technicality since it's optional
Red - gen 2 is not my favorite but battling red is one of the best moments in pokemon ever
Spiderman/Peter Parker - I never thought I would hear and needed to hear Yuri Lowenthal Bully McGuire
Sonic - insert the faker line haha so funny
Claude - a race is a fight right?
Demi Fiend - never laugh at a guy with funny tattoos and a pixie
Hero of Time - I had to double check this one because i wasnt sure if it was just a game theory but this is very cool to know it's true
Red - bro where were you no one knew where your ass was for years
Sonic (again) - I AM ALL OF ME🗣️🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Demi Fiend - I am not sure I'll ever attempt this fight
Red (again) - At least he's not alone anymore
Lloyd - I wish I didn't find this out making this list lol
Marth, Ike, Lucina and Robin - For the price of a overpriced toy you can fight your favorite fire emblem characters :)
Kiryu - I'm still impressed they managed to make so many games with him
Agent 3 - I never got around to actually playing this series
Zero - this series has way too many games
Sonic (again) and Shadow: i really think this game has potential too bad it's a mess of a game

South park fractured but whole
basically every shovel knight sequel: plague of shadows (fighting shovel knight), specter of torment (fighting plague knight), king of cards (fighting specter knight)
Deus Ex: Invisible War. Though it is optional, I don't think there's ever a path that prevents you from fighting JC Denton.

Armored Core does this more than once, in 2 and For Answer! Verdict Day probably doesn't count? Different character using the machine that the AC4 protag used in For Answer, but not while he was actually protag. But I've mentioned it so nobody can consider it an obvious omission.

In Armored Core 2 you fight Leos Klein who was the protagonist of Master of Arena and in Armored Core: For Answer you fight White Glint who's pilot is actually your character from Armored Core 4
