Hollow Knight is one of the most untouchably perfect pieces of art I have ever experienced. Every aspect of it is worth praise. The music is magnificent. The exploration and progression are consistently rewarding. The atmosphere is one of the most charming and mysterious in any game. All of this is wrapped in perhaps the most engaging combat system ever. The way you upgrade your attacks and movement abilities, gradually becoming stronger, just as the bosses become more challenging. The level of challenge and lack of direction may be off putting to some, but I highly recommend going into this game as blind as possible and limiting the amount of times you use a guide. If you allow yourself to get lost in the majesty of this game and it's world, you will be rewarded with one of the finest experiences ever crafted for the medium of video games. An undeniable modern masterpeice.
