i kind of want to check out nana but i know that shit will fuck with me, so i just keep my exposure to it to just looking at cute fanart where nana and hachi are together lol

licorice pizza is so fucked up it makes me wanna puke, it has no business being that good otherwise. i wanna give it the benefit of the doubt and say that the movie is highlighting societal double standards when it comes inequitable relationships + how easy it is to romanticize unhealthy and destructive relationship models through the magic of film and that PTA simply wants to assume the person viewing the film is smart enough to discern that. but also like, there's no reason to assume that subtext is even there, and the easy surface level takeaway is that it's plainly romanticizing what's essentially just pedophilia lol still kinda good tho idk how

i don't have any recs cuz i'm uncultured (if i'm not working these days i'm usually just playing video games or hanging out with my cat) and your tastes are frankly a lot cooler than mine, but that pinky and pepper graphic novel sounds cool as fuck i might legit check that out

this game + kh1 inform most of my taste in video games so i'm extremely biased, but still love to see fair, non-inflammatory takes that are able to take the good with the bad. sonic/tails/knuckles are the body of the game, but gamma/amy/big are the heart and soul -- they're arguably the reason all of us still talk about this game so much to this day

i probably would've related to that sentiment like 10 years ago, but these days i'm at risk of putting a framed picture of the original ff7 key art of cloud on a motorcycle in my living room and the only thing that could stop me is probably the good sense of a hypothetical future partner and/or a roommate who is even more ill than i am and could come up with something worse to put there. cloud strife makes me sick regardless tho, so maybe i can relate a little bit

@moschidae yeah i'm going to be sad when the switch 2 inevitably has way better anti-piracy and is way harder to emulate on modern PCs for the first few years and i have to spend money again. like i'll probably be better off financially by then, but u know, it's the principle of it at that point

shitty in a very distinctly cool way. makes me miss when i'd walk into the arcade of a movie theater or w/e in the late 90s/early 00s and chuck a few of my parents' quarters away on something barely playable that looked rad as hell to my idiot child brain. i love how easy it is to cheese the AI with spamming specific attacks, the whole experience is just a flailing mess and it rules. makes me wanna boot up power stone or something, it's been like two decades since i've even thought about games like this, but i know my life is only enhanced by their existence

tifa's design here makes her look like an action figure for pervert otakus, but w/e i like spamming triangle and juggling the bad guy when they're close and spamming tifa hadouken when they're far away and winning. girls are so cool. i like the powers dog that has a red XIII alt and the animorph girl and the guy who shoots rockets out his leg. don't like the old guy with the annoying stick or the yoyo cop tho. i'll play the minigames and quest mode someday maybe, idk just something about blasting through an arcade mode that appeals more to me in these types of games

adding this to my "games that would fucking rule at slumber parties even though i'm turning 32 in a week and all the friends i could have slumber parties with are productive adults who live halfway across the country from me and also i have crippling student debt" list! shirtless sephiroth tho
