Cool combat that's pretty simple for a platinum game, but coordinating between your legion and the player character can provide some depth if you want it. Aesthetics and graphics are cool, plot is basically EVA. Final boss was also considerably more difficult than the rest of a game to a degree that felt out of synch. Overall, great tho. Would love to see a sequel.

Charming and frustrating in all the same ways the original was. Worth the wait.

Never played the original on the GB but I really enjoyed this remake. Combat is exciting, and the sense that Samus is getting more powerful over the course of the game is really strongly conveyed. Unlike Zero Mission never felt lost mostly due to scan pulse which is a welcome addition and much preferable to blasting every tile in every room with every weapon available to figure out how to progress. Hunting down the Metroids as the main collectible here is an awesome idea.

Only real complaint here is that the button layout on the 3DS is cramped, ESPECIALLY L / R which this game uses a lot, but that isn't the game's fault.
