Newgrounds is so fucking edgy!!!! Fancy Pants' plot just basically says "Newgrounds was too hardcore for him"

played through World of Assassination

probably top 3 maps so far, i think i prefer mumbai and ark society more due to the scale of those, but id be damned if i didnt have a good time here. it had more of that "different disguises for different places" thing i mentioned and scaling the tower, and then disconnecting the wifi box and knockin out the IT guy, taking his disguise and getting rid of the lady's security one by one before finally taking her out. i went with the getting the drives route, though i'll probably try and infiltrate the vault if i get the itch.

im still a bit bummed there's not dialogue options outside mission stories. or the fact that there's not more emphasis on people noticing their coworkers going missing, if you do it silently there is zero risk, even if you don't hide the body as long as you get out of there there is no risk to you. it just takes me out of the experience when the bank lady saw the IT person, talked to him, and then someone who looks completely different(me) does his job for him. like, at the very least it should raise suspicion and i would need an excuse for where the guy went, yknow? there's a lot of small immersion breaks in these games, and that's still my biggest gripe.

The culmination of a trilogy of outstanding games, years of updates, and content releases all packed into one game. The amount of quality content on offer in World of Assassination is remarkable and it is all really great. On top of the already existing content, Freelancer is a challenging but fun roguelike gamemode that is surprisingly well thought-out. This trilogy has provided me with some of my most favorite gaming memories in nearly the last decade. HITMAN is very fun and I highly recommend it to anyone who has been at all interested in checking one of the games out. If you enjoy this kind of game then it will no doubt be a great time.

the marketing: You are Agent 47, an unfeeling and calculating badass who could assassinate a room full of people without wrinkling his suit.

the gameplay: I dressed up as a clown and slapped a guy into the ocean with a fish

Comfortably violet, wacky puzzling maelstrom. Kaleidoscopic and furiously stimulating all at once, behaves like a rubics cube of isometrical slaughterhouses and instakill adrenaline. Beat it 5 times and i'm thinking about a 6th one. ¿Guess who's got two thumbs and likes hurting people?

Slightly torn on this. Aesthetically? One of the best things ive ever played. A+ in every regard. Some of the greatest funny lookin guys in vidja history in particular. Perfect in every way. Constantly surprised with how much cool shit it does.

Story wise? I dunno. I think it's pretty blatant that there's no real grand overarching theme or much of a consistent narrative, just a collection of fun little vignettes, and I think I'm okay with that. I would've liked if there was more of a method to it's madness, but just being along for the ride is enough when it's this constantly captivating. Nary a dull moment. Reminded me a lot of The Silver Case as a whole, with it's often loose story being told thru a series of questionably connected chapters (tho TSC does it a lot better in a macro sense), the very strong and striking sense of visual storytelling, and how chapter 2 is easily the worst part.

Speaking of chapter 2 the death grips stuff is bad and feels bizarrely out of step with the rest of the game. I wouldve not had a problem with it if it was just stefan being a character in narrative for no real reason like MJ is, but it double / triples down on it and its very, for lack of a better word, cringe. i wouldve tolerated it if this was made in like 2015 or something but near current year is too late to be talking about being noided n shit. easy lowpoint of the game

Bro I love beating up a massive muscly dragon by shaking my hips from side to side more than anything.

Nothing feels better than waking up, turning on the TV, and running towards 3 ghosts that turn out to be angry anthropomorphised dumbbells and squeezing your ring a few times to piss them off.

The gym is over, it's Ringfit time now. I just reached 2000 squats. I am the squat master. I will never stop.

When this started with the suicide hotline number I thought, "ah, I'm no doubt in for a thoughtful and nuanced depiction of mental illness!"

At one point there's a scene where the main character freaks out about her follower count and people commenting, like, "no sexy pics no followers!!!" and i refuse to believe no one on the dev team said "hey is this stupid? is this fucking stupid you guys?"

Games exist with a purpose. Impart something on the player, gather a fanbase, and maybe make some money back. This is, of course the natural way of things, you poured your heart and soul into making something, you want to be rewarded for it, you want people to love it.

But there is something special about a game that.... Simply exists. This isn't a game that is made to garner attention. It's a game that's made. On the 16th of September in 2017 this was uploaded to the Steam store, with 245 reviews, and going for €2,99, or €0.75 on sale.

It is my sincerest hope that, years from now, someone will stumble across this game like I did, buy it with remaining funds and have fun. This is something that exists for that purpose. Perceive the ridiculousness, maybe ask a couple friends to join you, and revel in the existence of people's passion in a way you might not have done before.

"I want to show you the truth, so you'll know how beautiful I am, and I'm trying to show you in a subtler way."
