Might edit this review later as i'm not that far in.
The art style and direction are really interesting, and the world feels like it has potential, but it's bogged down by the fact that the actual story and characters have yet to grab my attention in any meaningful way. This would be fine if the combat was engaging or at the least unique, but it lacks any real depth. Sure the animations are fantastically done but that's all it really has, it looks good without feeling like anything at all.
In classic mihoyo fashion it's also gacha slop, and this one feels even less justifiable than the others. I already have horrible luck in HSR-- a game that i actually care about for the story, characters, and combat-- which drives me away. Here it just seems like the nail in the coffin. Why couldn't the characters have been unlockable through the story, or simply be allowed to choose to play as whoever you want? LETS GO GAMBLING!!!!!!!!!!! 🤑
