I don't know what was wrong about it, but this game had none of the charm that I was looking for. Perhaps it was just too slow a start, or perhaps it was just too clunky. In any case, my farm never really got off the ground and I dropped the game out of sheer boredom.

A Mario Party that unfortunately has more bad ideas than good ones. On the good side, bringing back the Star Spirits from Paper Mario? Super cool! Wish the other ideas had been as good as that. The game's big new item system, capsules, unfortunately falls on the bad side. There's a lot of overhead and bother to using them, and I think you can't beat the purity of just, you know, items. Still, the boards and minigames are still good.

This game has a bit higher production value than the first Sonic Advance, and a little more flair, but it still doesn't do much more for me. Looking at it objectively I appreciate that this game is more optimized for speed with mechanics and level design that emphasize flow, which is nice, but a lot of that is lost on me. Also I remember some of the boss fights in this game being super annoying. I guess it's fine.

This was the first 2D Sonic I ever played, and it's... okay. This game in particular doesn't have much going for it one way or the other, it's a very basic Sonic game with multiple playable characters. I guess my only critique is that it feels very barebones, especially in how it presents both the character select and the level select - very plain, as if it were a debug menu. Bland, that's what this one is.

A little beat em up that's good dumb fun. Gameplaywise it works well enough, it's easy to play and have a fun enough time going through the campaign, fighting various characters from the franchise, and learning their moves. I especially liked how the main character, Emerl, had a customizable moveset and appearance and that he ended up as a fun sort of mix and matched OC. It's a good game to turn your brain off for.

I thought this game was very cool, but also it didn't really hit me quite as hard as SA2. The idea for this game is solid, it's basically the best gameplay style of the previous 3D Sonics but with a little extra nuance from the team thing. It's neat, and the 4 teams are cool. I especially liked Team Chaotix. Problem is it's not paced super well, both levels and the game overall tend to outstay their welcome. You get tired of it.

A really fun and clever RPG with a really original core mechanic which works extremely well. The idea of having each Bro have one button with which they attack, dodge attacks and deflect attacks, is really clever and makes nearly every battle engaging. It's also used for team up moves and puzzle solving, which continues to be neat. The story and world is also really solid, traveling outside of the Mushroom Kingdom makes for a fun excursion. Extremely well executed on all fronts.

A fantastic entry in the Tony Hawk franchise that revamped the formula, to great effect. The mission based structure was much more my speed. Really enjoyed going through the story (which was well written for its time and not too obnoxious) and traveling to all the maps. While I don't think the maps of this game are anything special, it was the first to include a bunch of old maps as well, which really fleshed out the game's offerings. Game is the complete package.

Probably the best of the Advanced games, in addition to having a great version of SMB3, which is a very good platformer with a ton of levels and variety, this version also benefited from having eReader cards which let you add a bunch of brand new levels, as well as power ups from other games such as SMW. It was really neat, I played the hell out of this version of SMB3, much more than the version I had through All Stars.

Fantastic open world driving game made before The Simpsons was completely run into the ground. I loved how much content there was to this game. Exploring the various Springfield maps, unlocking cars and finding all sorts of fun references to the show as super fun. It was just a really rich open world with all the Simpsons flavor you wanted, and I loved every minute of it. <3

Decent isometric version of Banjo-Kazooie. While it is a little short with only 6 worlds in the game and also a little heavy on minigames, it's fun to run around, collect all the things and learn all the moves. It's probably better than it should be for what it is!

A somewhat baffling game where you hang out with Pikachu and watch TV. The joke of various Pokemon running various different TV shows like a shopping network, a quiz show or an exercise program is pretty funny. However, that's the whole game? And it was a full price game? Yeah...

This to me is the quintessential summer game. The world it creates is so vivid and atmospheric, you really feel the tropical resort vibes. I love how the worlds are all tropical resort themed while also being very different from each other. It's also super cool how you can other worlds from them since they all exist on the island somewhere. The platforming is also great with a nice mix of FLUDDless challenges, and FLUDDfull traversal. The game simply cleans up well.

Unfortunately, not all the way there. The game is much much rougher and jankier than SA2, which I played first, which made this fairly disappointing. The open world feels tacked on, and all the arbitrary keys you have to deliver to the next level bogs down the pacing a lot. For all its clunkiness though, it is still very cool. I love the world characters and facts, and while the levels aren't as tight as in SA2, they're still okay.

Great conceit! To face down a barrage of microgames is so fun. They come at you fast and you have only a second to parse them and respond. It can be harrowing, surprise you, or make you laugh. The game is also chock full of personality, Wario's cohorts are great and add a lot to the game with their antics. It also rules that you unlock a bunch of additional minigames, such as Dr Wario which is basically just Dr Mario. Such a good value.
