Thoughts: WOW! What an absolute great time from beginning to end, amazing and unique gameplay mechanics, absolutely riveting style with the budget to really make it pop, and a great story with extremely memorable characters, this is about everything you could ask for in a video game. Also Im a huge music lover so this game is even better for me!

Thoughts: Fun game with some really cool looking art direction with a mash of all kinds of fun astetics and themes. The platforming was kinda hell at first but I realized that this actually has a really good learning curve.

Thoughts: I might start writing a bit less on games I play for a while cuz I kinda lost a bit of motivation to write as much, but this game is one of the most unique stories and storytelling methods I've ever seen and it gives it this almost transient feel that really makes you KNOW that it is something really special.
Splatoon 3: Side Order
Splatoon 3: Side Order

Thoughts: This DLC was much more fun for me than Octo expansion was. There is a difference in how the game difficulty works this time and it works wonders for my personal enjoyment of it. Instead of just being hard overall, it's hard at first, but then you can grind out the game to make it easier. For Nintendo's first perceived attempt at a roguelike, they did a really good job making the gameplay systems work and be really fun.
The overall new "Order" aesthetic really makes this DLC stand out in the splatoon world. The very bright and dull whites stand out and the ver glittery ink colors you use are really nice to look at. The boss stages also really stand out and look stunning, its crazy how good nintrendo can make their games look on the outdated old, hardware, and run at a pretty consistent 60fps, its genuenly a marvel. THE MUSIC ALSO SLAPS HARD ASF
Also the ending is very satisfying and is such a fun experience. The way this DLC tops off feels like how every roguelike should end.
Overall really enjoyable DLC that if you have splatoon 3 is a must-play.

Thoughts: This DLC was fun overall, you can't go wrong with the nice splatoon vibes that come from it, the music is nice, and the gameplay can be really fun at some points. BUT personally I'm not very good at splatoon and that made it kinda hard to get through. Again that's PERSONAL TO ME but its just the truth. But I appreciate that the DLC is hard because it gives those who want a good splatoon campaign with challenge what they want. And hey, again, the games vibes and cool astetics are off the charts as always though.
Overall, fun DLC that was a little to hard for me to fully enjoy, but if your good at splatoon or are just a fan, you should definitely play.

Thoughts: This was a very fun and engaging experience. The game's story was a very fun mystery and the vibes overall really tied this experience together.
The game's story was very interesting. It had a lot of themes relating to the creative process itself which I really enjoyed. I always love when media is referential and/or focused on the process of creation as it gives a very interesting look into how people who create the thing we love think about the creations they make. The story overall was also just very fun with lots of twists and turns that lead you every which way and luckily, in my opinion, it doesn't get to confusing by the end, and by the time you're done, you have a pretty good overall picture of what just happened. I'm prefacing this as a positive because some mysterious and vague/abstract stories like this leave you confused as hell by the end, but luckily this one doesn't, at least not for me.
Now the gameplay on the other hand. The gameplay can be pretty fun and is quite engaging when you get in the good flow of combat, but for me at least, that was really hard to do. This game feels kind of clunky in its flow and overall movement. But this is a game from 2010 so I'm not gonna dock it too much for that, and overall the idea of the gameplay is cool, which gets me excited to experience how the second game handles its mechanics. But again the combat was kinda clunky and some of the enemies were annoyingly designed. one of the enemies is technically one-hit kill, but puts you in a three-hit combo to kill you which makes you think you can escape between hits but in reality, you cant.
Finally the VIBES. If you've watched shit like twin peaks or, ya know, traveled to the specific north west, you know the vibe, and this game captures it perfectly in my eyes, and adds a nice gloomy spin to it when the night comes around. The little town the game takes place in is very cozy feeling during the day, but very hostile feeling during the night. this hostile feeling is helped by the overly americanized enemies who yell phrases at you about shit like fishing and wood work and what not. It might just be me but I'm kinda of scared of old working class white dudes, so it definitely felt hostile (half joking). But anyways the very grey and blue night made the atmosphere and vibes pop, and the very bloom-heavy shines of the bright lights in this game also gave it a unique sense of identity. Very good art direction for a game that's supposed to look as real as it can.
Overall, very fun and engaging story and vibes, with some gameplay hiccups and minor annoyances along the way. I cant wait to play the sequel when I have the time. If you are at all interested, PLAY IT! (8.5/10)

Thoughts: This game was all alright. There was a good amount of time where I was genuinely really enjoying it and having fun with its mechanics and flow. The gameplay itself is pretty fun especially when you're in the flow of its combat. But a lot of the time I'd kinda be kicked out of that "flow" because of how tedious some of these enemies were to deal with. The game is hard, sure, but not hard in the way a game should be in my opinion. Lots of enemies and shit coming your way at all times with no breaks can be a bit monotonous and annoying.
The aesthetic of the game is pretty cool though. you feel like you're in a VHS Saturday morning cartoon and the simple story about going up in the ranks of a competition fits that pretty well. The story is very simple but hey, it doesn't need to be complicated or extraordinary to be at least enjoyable. The only thing I'll say is I feel they could've captured the aesthetic they were going for a bit better.
Overall, pretty fun game with some gameplay hiccups and a little wasted potential but still a fun time you should try if you're interested.

Thoughts: This game has some of the most creative, and interesting levels, art direction, characters, environments, and just overall game I've ever seen. This just goes to show that when you give a team of passionate creatives the funds to work on a project they want, how they want it, it can come out with some of the most creative art of all time.

This game pretty much improves every single aspect of from the first. firstly lets start with the gameplay. This game has a much better and more fun and in depth combat system than the first. and that's not just to say its better than a PS2 game. They really improved the combat to be up to modern standards and still made it fun and catroony like it was. The amount of versatility and mechanics you need to use during the combat makes the game very fun in combat sections, especially since it keeps introducing new enemy types almost to the end of the game. but it never feels like too much either which is good and keeps the game from feeling bloated.
The game's platforming also got a major upgrade. Although I'd argue they took away a little of the freedom of platforming you had in the first game, its very much worth it as it adds a whole new layer of fluidity to your platforming sections. the camera movement and animations really make you feel like a skilled acrobat and its fun as hell to traverse around all these areas in the minds and in the real world. the platforming is just really engaging and I loved every section I got to climb, slide, grind, or jump through.
Another thing this game improved on (at least in my eyes) is the art direction and design of the game. Now its not knock the first game levels and art direction (I thought they were absolutely incredible to.) But that's what makes it so amazing that they managed to knock it out of the park with this games art and levels even better. Allthough you could argue that its a bad thing that the game kinda lost a bit of its gloomy "Burton-esque" astetic from the first game, Im a huge fan of popping and vibrant colors and so I think it was a great move to expand the universes pallete and design to fit this many colorful and fun locations and brains. From the casino to the forest to the food gameshow brain to the dreary brains to the absolutely vibrant and colorful brains, This game just oozes style and creative mastery of what they were going for and I LOVE IT!
I LOVED this game's writing. This game made me laugh my ass off just as many times as it made me emotionally invested, which is a great feat indeed. This game writing is just so godamn funny, I've never really played a game that has made me laugh as much as this one. The stupid scenarios you can find yourself in within people's brains are hilarious. I took my time to talk to as many NPCs as I could because the writing was so charming and funny that every interaction felt like it was worth something. the responses Raz would have to these funny moments were just amazing. I would be making sure I chose every dialogue option he could have to respond just to hear what plays out.
Lastly, the game's story overall. this is one of the most fun and engaging game stories I've ever played and it goes even deeper into its themes and messaging than the first game did. One thing I appreciate a lot in media is lesson being taught through story. That's why My Little Pony: FIM is my favorite show. Because although you could call it childish to be teaching lessons in a piece of media, what a lot of other adults don't realize is that there are things that not everyone knows, things that come second nature to you don't to others. And having fun and engaging media like that teches lesson about how brains work while also being fun, how to understand people and their circumstance, how to live with your past, without actually having to spoonfed it to people is very valuable (especially to neurodivergent people like myself) and so because of that and its morals and themes, this game might have one of my favorite stories of ALL TIME.
Overall AMAZING GAME, that you should 100% play (but play Psychonauts 1 first) engage yourself in this fun story, these fun characters, and this fun world, and you will not regret it.

Thoughts: This game's story is so good! if you looked at my "Silent Hill: The Short Message" thoughts, you'd remember me talking about how I can excuse uninteresting gameplay if the story is good enough. This game is the perfect example. The gameplay is not bad or boring or anything but it is definitely not anything special, it's just another "small puzzle, run and hide, small puzzle, find next area, etc." type game.
But what makes up for that unremarkable gameplay is the absolutely remarkable story and its themes. This is the perfect use of the sci-fi setting it takes place in, talking about themes of the morality of mortality, what it means to be alive, and how people live on. This game has plenty of disturbing moments that really stretch its main concept of copies of people turned into digital consciousness and what they leave behind, leading to some crazy and morally questionable moments that tie perfectly into the game.
This game also builds up a really good atmosphere, really feeding into the idea of lost humanity with this dark, decrepit, and scary deep ocean. It really builds the vibes of the game on the outside segments about just how fucked you really are if you don't succeed. and the indoor segments also build a great atmosphere of infected and left behind place that should be full of people and working machines, but are instead filled with broken people and broken machines.
Overall, Fantastic game that if you are a fan of horror or future and sci-fi like me, you are doing yourself a disservice by not trying.

Thoughts: This game is just a nice fun puzzle experience. A lot of cool moments that utilize the main gameplay concept of perspective-shifting weird puzzles well. None of the puzzle segments were too hard or too easy, and the game's puzzles had a nice progression that followed along with the story. Speaking of which, I have not really seen that many games tie a moral into the main gameplay of a game like this one has, it was really interesting and I think it was pretty well done. Overall, it is a nice short, and enjoyable little experience that you should definitely try if you haven't already.

New Favorite Game Of All Time!

Thoughts: I just don't know what to say. After this second playthrough of the game, it has solidified itself as my new favorite game of all time, possibly one of my favorite media franchises of all time too. This game and its world are just the fucking best man, I have always been a huge fan of future and cyberpunk aesthetics and this game just hits the ground running with a crazy story that makes you think about all the awesome shit this genre can make you think about. The themes of corporate interference and what it costs to fight back against the systems you abide in, the mortality of the future, and how it as a concept can change. There are so many well-written scenes and moments in this game that make me feel like I'm truly experiencing this world and its characters. The dreary atmosphere in some scenes just gimme a sense of feeling I’ve never gotten in any other game. The gameplay is also just fun as fuck. The gunplay is fluid and fun with plenty of cool systems to add to the combat variety with shit like quick hacks, and standevistans. With the additions from the 2.0 update, this game has actually one of the most fun combat of a single-player fps that I know of. I am 100% gonna be coming back to finish every mission and every side gig in this game one day, but I thought to myself after reaching the point of no return in the game 40 hours in, that I had had my time with it and it was best to move on for now and save the rest of that savory dish for later in my life. Because I don't wanna lose opportunities to see new things in this universe. That's how much I love it and it intrigues me. This game is forever going down in my heart as my new favorite of all time, and I cant wait to come back to it in the future to see what else I can see from it. But for now, its time I put it behind me for a while. Overall one of the best games I’ve ever played and truly an experience that you shouldn't miss out on. If you’re doubtful because of the launch of the game, you don't have to be anymore. Don't miss out on this amazing experience. But hey it's your choice not mine. Just take my thoughts into consideration.

Thoughts: very fun and charming game. it's really cozy feeling while also being weirdly unsettling at times. the vibe of this game cant really be captured in any other game I've played. It's cute but evil. I loved being able to form and make my servants like how I wanted, I added friends to the game and characters and celebrities alike in animal form just for fun. I loved the slight character that all of the characters in the game had, they were all overall pretty charming. Also being able to have that customization was what added a lot to the cult-building aspect of the game for me. Speaking of which let's talk gameplay. This game is split into two types of games basically that flow with each other nicely. A roguelite action game, and a cozy cult-builder game. Although I didn't do much customizing myself, I appreciated the option to add so many decorations around your cult as it makes it feel much more your own. The cult-builder aspect was pretty fun and had i'd say a perfectly paced progression. On the other hand I also really enjoyed the roguelike elements as well. The combat was simple but still very fun and had enough mechanics to make every run fun and interesting. Ive always kinda had trouble getting into rougelikes and lites, but having this permanent thing to fall back on made me more motivated to get that up to be better at the rougelite mode. It was a very fun and engaging combination of those two different game types. Also the final boss was really cool and fun. Overall very solid and fun experience that I'm glad I played.

Thoughts: This game was just ok. The story was pretty handfisted at points and felt a little bad faith at some points but it didn't feel overly offensive at any point. It just felt like the kinda oh trauma! trauma! trauma! everywhere type story, which can work but if you put it in there just to make it more dramatized it doesn't really work (Like the mom did not need to do what she did, if you know you know). The gameplay was also extremely boring with a crazy confusing and tedious area as the final gameplay section. I can excuse boring gameplay if the story is interesting enough but as said before, it wasn't. I'm giving it credit for being a free game that's just a short little silent hill experience, but if I even had to pay like $20 for it, it'd be a lot lower. some saving grace to the game is that the art is really nice, graphics are good, and there are some cool sections of the game. but that can't save it from being an overall pretty boring and uninteresting game. The game feels like it tries to recapture the old Silent Hill and put in an overly modernized light and it just doesn't really work in that area. This game also seems to rip off PT in a lot of ways which feels bad faith because Kojima left Konami and now they're kinda picking up his creative scraps and that feels really bad faith. Overall, this game is pretty inoffensive but just tries to capture things from before that Konami just can't do again.

Thoughts: HOLY SHIT MAN! This DLC was all I could've asked for. I loved playing this so much, it for real somehow made me almost tear up idk. The story was an amazing spy thriller with plenty of twists and turns, and they expanded the gameplay with a lot of awesome new things alongside the 2.0 update. I have always loved Cyberpunk 2077 but now I AM SO GLAD that others are finally seeing the potential of this game and its universe. GOD I JUST LOVED THIS SO MUCH! I wanna gush about it all day! Thoughts: This was just such a fun time all the way through, this game's world and especially the characters are so fun. The levels are so well designed and really feel like a fever dream someone would have in their head. Also the combat was honestly not to bad either with a lot of variety on how you tackle enemies surprisingly. The concept and execution of the story really make you feel like you're experiencing an animated kids' film. It's also just really funny. I am a huge fan of this game and cant wait to play the sequel!
