I kind of can't help but solemnly nod to a game that is so boldly against the idea of the player ever having fun. Like sure there's troll games like I Wanna Be The Guy or whatever but this game just straight up punishes you and calls you a moron for enjoying yourself too much. I appreciate that hustle.

It gave us a boss whose name is fucking SHIELD SHELDON

I like its aesthetic, and also the fact that it perfectly captures the energy of "Sega side-hustle from the 2000s that never got off the ground"

As much as Sonic's wish for a mountain of handkerchiefs is a cartoonishly dumb gesture, there is something weirdly real about Sonic getting Shahra out of what was heavily implied to be an abusive relationship with Erazor and telling her crying is a perfectly healthy reaction to the fallout of it all.

This game has the perfect replacement for EVs in it and it never carried over to future games.

It is currently the only Metroid game with Anthony Higgs in it

There's a skeleton of a cool Metroid spinoff in there. Like, imagine this but it was more like Star Wars Republic Commando, just a squad shooter featuring a team of Galactic Federation troopers. There coulda been something there.

It at least TRIES to treat Omega like a big deal again. He deserves it.

It's not as slow or crammed full of HMs as OG Diamond was.

Something like this would work today now that double battles have been mechanically fleshed out so much.
