An absolutely beautiful game both aesthetically and narratively. Unashamedly proud of both the material it draws on from Pinocchio as well as its gameplay design from FromSoft. A great example of "X story but Adult". That it doesn't care about utilising concepts from Pinocchio to make its world makes it at times both hilariously cheesy yet totally earnest and inspiring. The way it adapts the themes of grief, loss, and recovery from the original story comes across as heartfelt and meaningful. Just a fantastically beautiful game with incredibly well crafted environments and polished mechanics. It is quite easily the single best soulslike game not made by FromSoft that I have ever played.
A game I've been wanting to play since it game out and it didn't disappoint! Very cute art style and direction coupled with some fun exploration and combat. I do wish the map was a bit clearer and that some of the manual pages were earned at different times, but I enjoyed the mechanics of collecting the manual to make sense of the in game mechanics. It leans a bit more on being a soulslike than a Zeldalike, but still very much an enjoyable experience!
Sometimes you just want to go do some spooky fishing and also play some Tetris while you're at it. A very enjoyable fishing adventure with lots of interesting minigames for fishing, as well as a story that can get deep if you want to dive into it.
