1★ - I dislike the game.

Just like most Lego games on switch (Unless its a port of a last gen game) this runs poorly and makes me want to avoid the game. Which is a shame cause it looks like a lot of passion was put into it.

3.5★ - I really like the game.

I got a good 6 hours out of this DLC and more if I want to mess with item combinations. It was a really difficult DLC to do one weapon-only runs. But thankfully the majority of the weapon upgrades were powerful and unique, making up the first 10 minutes for each of the new characters.

It's like $3. Just buy it.

3★ - I like the game.

I don't really have much to say for this epilogue other than it was nice to get some more interactions between Shulk and Melia. I also found myself really liking Nene and Kino. Story-wise, it felt a bit pointless, but I hope the story will be a bit more meaningful once I play the 2nd and 3rd games.

I actually enjoyed the combat more in this version of the game due to the lack of spiked enemies and the Ponspectors having a super powerful nuke move that helped speed up battles significantly.

I feel there isn't too much else to say about the epilogue other than how impressive it is for the whole map to just be, one map. It feels bigger than base Xenoblade maps.

2★ - I tolerate the game.

Not a fan of the progression. I feel more like I'm bashing my head against a wall instead of learning from each run. But the game has such a unique charm that I am willing to come back at another point to try again.

3★ - I like the game.

This was the first time beating this game, my first experience with Final Fantasy IV was with the DS remake and I wasn't that great at the time and wasn't able to finish it.

So it was fun to finally play through all the bits I knew about. It's a very simple story yet had me engaged nonetheless. Same goes for the characters. They are super simple and don't do "much" during the story yet they were super lovable all the same so the writers had to have been doing something right. My favourite in the end was Rydia and tied with Edge just trying to be cool around her.

Solid RPG experience and it made me excited to retry the 3D remake someday.

3★ - I like the game.

While I did enjoy this game overall I feel it did have some issues that may have been due to the open-world experience. While this was my first non persona game so my expectations for the story may have been misplaced but I was disappointed by the lack of it at least when it came to the Main Story. I found I did enjoy some of the side stories way more than the story. Especially one you get access to during the final map.

The story feels so lackluster and to me, it feels like it was due to the open world. It seems the developers didn't want exploration to be interrupted by the story so it only happens at the start, middle, and end of maps which doesn't really allow for much to happen and the bulk of interesting events happen right at the end where it doesn't really matter anymore.

I would only really recommend SMT5 for its gameplay which is solid and was a fun experience. I played on normal for the intended experience and was challenged by the majority of the major encounters. However, I was doing all the side content along the way and found a couple of bosses ended up under-leveled because of it. While others happened to be at a higher level than me which lead to a more engaging fight.

This is made worse by the final part of the game where a lot of the normal enemies will be at a higher level than you, so you expect you need to be at their level to be prepared for the final boss and it turns out the final fights are all lower levels than some of the normal enemies. So I ended up making what was supposed to be the climax really easy. This led to the finale feeling deflated and abrupt.

I wouldn't recommend this game unless you wanted to have some solid RPG battles. If you wanted something for the story I would say to not really bother with this one.

Side note, but why are their demon fusions at max level when they will trivialise any of the final bosses in the game?

I legit suck at this game. But I see it's value I love watching others play it. Do give this game a go and you might just be good at it.

2★ - I tolerate the game.

Funny for a couple of minutes. I don't understand why my friends wanted to play this every damn time they came over.

I liked what I played. But that wasn't much due to the server issues I had to deal with. I live in Australia but no other multiplayer games have been this bad.

2.5★ - I like the game.

I love this games vibes. Too bad I suck at skating.

3★ - I like the game.

This game was fun, but really short. Considering I was able to get 100% within a couple of days.

I hope this game continues to get more content and weapon variety.

4.5★ - I love the game.

This game was wonderful to play. I didn't have the same joy of exploration I got from BoTW and I feel that was going to be the case when the map was "re-used" (That was never an issue to me, I knew that meant development would be put elsewhere). However everything else made up for it.

The story is still pretty weak like BoTW. But that's mostly due to how the finale was handled. The mystery of the past was engaging enough. Seeing what took place up to the imprisoning of Ganondorf. I even thought they did something bold but that was sadly ruined by the end.

The gameplay is top notch. Combat is great but I still find myself avoiding it quite often cause I personally find it a chore. I know that contradicts what I just said. But to me I can see that it is a solid system but for me personally not too engaging. I have to get myself to fight enemies just so I have materials for upgrades. The new enemy variety is simply amazing.

The addition of "Side Stories" is great, to let you know when something will be impactful to the world and your about to be a bit more engaged than a simple side quest.

I have quite a lot to say about this game. This review will probably be updated overtime until it's a super long brain fart about a really amazing Zelda.

2.5★ - I like the game.

I'm going to be grilled for this one. I'm sorry to say I just couldn't get into this game or correction, I could until you get past a certain point in the story where I begin to feel the padding of the game. Battles being slow, the amount of filler story quests compared to before. The endless amount of the same side quest over and over (The task is the same, but the context is different for each quest).

However, I can see what people like. If I hadn't had the story twists spoiled I might have felt a lot more highly during the last 40 hours of the game. The world is amazing to traverse and beautiful to look at. The music hypes up every moment perfectly and I don't know what this means but the final boss music felt quite toned down compared to some of the other tracks used at other moments of the game (I went back to the final boss track and my speakers must have been bad because those guitar riffs are so good). I could see this combat working if it was refined a bit more but there tends to be too much going on at once during certain fights that it makes it frustrating to deal with.

The story is great for the most part. I would say around the 3rd act of the story the pacing becomes pretty bad. Considering I didn't need to grind at all for the whole game until the final chapter due to a level spike. The story up until the 3rd act just keeps rolling on and leaves little space to do side quests without feeling like you're neglecting the world and the importance of the task at hand. This to me is a big issue when the game has 400+ quests.

I've been quite a bit negative here and it may have been from expectations from everyone else calling this game a masterpiece or perfect. This game is good with some problems. It's definitely a love-dislike thing for me which from what I've seen from fans of the series seems to be the case for every Xeno game ever.

(If you reply to this review don't be toxic. If you can give me tips for any possible replays to make me love the game more I will gladly accept.)
