300 hours on PS4. Then over 600 on PC (between Origin and then Steam). I really enjoy this game, but like with any other live service game, you eventually just get tired of it and move on. The devs didn't necessarily spice the game up enough for me to return. I never worried about completing the BPs nor did I play comp. I always stuck to pubs and had a blast there. I became desensitized to losing and starting over. I was just so addicted to the gunplay. I don't play it much anymore but do like to hop on from time to time when the itch strikes.

I played this in 2012. One of my favorite games of all time. Period. Just wish the ending wasn't a cliffhanger on purpose because Ubisoft had plans to milk the hell out of this otherwise amazing franchise. That's the ONLY thing that keeps it from being a 5/5. Stellar music, amazing story, gameplay, and endgame. It felt like magic. It made me obsess over history. Changed my life, truly.

The ending pissed me off. I was broke at the time and begged for this game. $60. I loved the setting, the gameplay was cool since it added flintlocks and muskets and stuff... the music was alright, Assassin story was good. The modern-day story ending made me so upset. I briefly lost interest in the franchise. I felt betrayed. Like me playing every AC before that suddenly didn't matter. Only it did. I still went through those historical playgrounds. I had lots of fun in them. And this one was no exception. It just felt like there was this hint of Ubisoft chicanery I cannot get over, to this day.
This one was pure fun. Amazing gameplay, story, cool music, incredible setting. You feel like a huge badass playing as Edward. The modern day story just started to feel pointless and just... bad. I stopped caring about it. And honestly I didn't pick up another AC game after this for years because I was still salty about 3's ending.
