I have such fond nostalgia of this game, it used to be one of my favorite PS2 games as a kid so I was excited to play it again as a grown ass man that still fucks with SpongeBob. I caught it on sale for 10 bucks and honestly...glad I waited lol this was by no means a perfect game before and while the graphical upgrade is nice, no additional content wouldn't seem worth paying full price for imo.

I have no major complaints I fucking love SpongeBob so I had good time regardless even if there were a few minor bugs and visual glitches, it didn't deter from my gameplay in any way. I even managed to somehow get all the trophies in the game without even really trying which shows just how easy it was lmao like I'm definitely not a completionist gamer and it kinda just happened lol.

This was a cute and short game that I have no strong feelings towards it since it wasn’t anything that I personally had any nostalgia over but I liked it for what it was! Just a nice chill adventure with Mario and Friends (although I kinda did wish that Toad and Luigi were along for the ride).

There isn’t really much to say about it in terms of plot since it’s about as bare bones as most standard Mario games can get for the most part with a little added backstory for some of the new characters introduced with this game. I still found it quite engaging since everything about this world was just so charming that even if it was extremely predictable with no real curveballs in its plot, it was still an enjoyable experience.

Gameplay was pretty straightforward and I thought it was nice how they incorporated timing attacks for extra damage/range since it allowed for you to be a little more attentive to battles rather than just click command, watch animation (which I enjoy just as much don’t get me wrong).

The game’s lack of direction would get a little confusing at times but I find this to be a common theme among older games so it wasn’t anything that I would particularly get upset over since a quick Google would point me in the right direction plus the game is so short that it wouldn't really take that long to find where you had to go next after some poking around.

This is the perfect RPG for those that are unfamiliar with the genre since it takes common themes and simplifies them for easy access. Playing this is making me look forward to that Paper Mario remake later this year since it looks to have some similar gameplay mechanics.

I don’t think I’ve ever gotten this deep into playing a fighting game since I’m not that skilled with it but Tekken 8 is honestly so fun and it finds ways to make beginner players get used to the controls and also provide some tips and challenges to allow for less skilled but familiar players (like me) for chances to improve.

This was an upgrade to Tekken 7 in almost every way from its graphical quality (though some faces do look whack I’m ngl), character customization, and various single-player modes. The only slight complaint I had on that front would be the lack of an “endless” ghost battle mode like we had with Tekken 6-7 since sometimes I just wanna get on and play with my little CPUs without having to worry about connecting to shit online..

The new Heat mode did take a bit of getting used to but I found it to be an interesting mechanic that allowed for the return of a sort of pseudo-bound mechanic from T6/TTT2 without having to be glued to the floor from long string combos which made for nice openings to counter. I’m not gonna get into the semantics of advanced gameplay where they start talking about frames and that bullshit like I’m a semi-casual player and the gameplay was just fine for me.

I did see that recent news has led to some criticism of the game in the form of its micro transactions and while I’m not personally a fan of the way that they’re approaching this since it feels a little unfair for an already $70 game..I kinda get where they’re coming from since the game does need to find a way to make money and honestly, at the end of the day it kinda doesn’t affect the majority of the player base like from what I’ve seen it’s mostly just cosmetics and like?? Who gives a fuck we have plenty of costumes and customization options and yeah it does suck that they’re paywalling classic costumes but no sane person is going to buy the costumes of every character in the game and I’m not gonna throw a bitch fit for spending 5 bucks on one costume if I REALLY wanted it.

This is a pretty solid game and in my opinion the closest you could get to a perfect Tekken game (other than TTT2) except for a few key characters which will hopefully get announced in the future with their ongoing season pass.
