The story is rough around the edges but the gameplay was a treat and I still found the world of luxendarc and the warriors of light endearing. Yes it's not a unique plot and it flails with its pacing but BD is still fun to replay. It's a shame the series gets consistently worse and forgets its some of the appeals that made this entry good.

I hope the creator rests in peace. Others may think this is nothing more than a game that encapsulates his depression but I think that's fine. It's a testament to his skill. He was able to convey so much with so little. It may not be the most groundbreaking nowadays, but he knew what to expand upon and what not to. I think he had potential, and I'll keep presentable liberty in my memory. I hope others do too.

Excellent presentation for a free ren'py VN and simple but straightforward character design. The initial premise of playing through an abusive mother was interesting. That's it. Everything else is incredibly disappointing with multiple scenes with extremely dubious consent, glorified demon incest, and none of the class expected from a mature victorian story. Came off as crude, raunchy and uncomfortable. Normally I'm unphased and I don't mind reading VNs i didn't end up enjoying but this truly felt like a colossal waste of time.

I enjoy the banter and the characterization but it's a painfully unremarkable gacha game that doesn't deviate from the standard formula. It's fun every now and then but with the generic art and the bland gameplay, there's not much incentive to play this.
Edit: the rhythm game had more original danmaku elements than its rpg equivalent. lol. lmao.

I feel that the quizzes are quite accurate and all the characters are strong. There are 3 but they all contribute well and I really enjoy the dialogue options and the way Alter Ego presents Es. Maybe the gameplay is a bit rough around the edges but I think its more so reliant on personal interpretation and to restart a few times, like most incremental games. a little pissed that this mobage is the closest at reinstilling a desire to read again but even more so that its working

this is the ""yandere"" trope to a tee but I feel like when Charon's writing was just trying to be sincere and take its characters seriously while still maintaining their dry humor, it worked best for them. It may seem linear but this is frankly one of their better works to me. There's a low bar perhaps, but it's one of the better ones.
