Surprisingly compelling story, with visuals and mechanics that made typical open world collector tasks (find all the backpacks, for example) much less tedious than they'd normally be. Chalk it up as time spent zipping around NYC, which just never gets old.

The setting, solving French murder mysteries, and the magic sword in the DLC - all great. Everything else, not awful, but far from AC's better work. Couldn't care less about helix missions or co-op mode, and clearing the map wasn't nearly as rewarding as I hoped.

A tech demo has no business being this good.
