idk man, i just dont see anything special here. this game feels like it's more about ripping from others rather than doing something unique.

i like bad bethesda games but wow this one is rough

well capcom, you did it. you crazy bastards, you really just made SFV But Even Better.

people wanna give sfv a lot of hate and deservedly so, its launch was abysmal. graphics werent great, it had a rootkit, way less characters, poor balance that continued downward until unfortunately the games last season. mika, guile, urien, abigail, poison, luke... so many problem characters. but at its core, once it was all finished and patched up, sfv had a very fun gameplay loop. it had slow and engaging neutral, cool characters with cool tools, and a unique gameflow for street fighter that differed heavily from the rest of the series while still feeling like street fighter.

it feels like they took that core and jacked it into this game, and then fixed all of sfv's other problems. dont like your tools being gated behind meter? now allll your tools are accessible from the beginning of each round with one meter. now you get to make meaningful choices and plan around it in a way that affects the game so heavily - do you use EX for pressure? for extra damage and combos? for reversals on defense? theres so many layers that allow a player to express themselves meaningfully. then, you get to be dumb power characters on top of it with the super meter - which thanks to universal systems, have given a lot of characters unique installs (similar to v triggers) and multipurpose tools that pull from nearly every street fighter game. SF6 feels like sfv omega to me, except they pulled in a little bit from every game to make it better.

also this launch is fantastic. great roster, great stages and graphics, a good single player mode, the BEST training mode in any fighting game, and lightning fast matchmaking with amazing connections?? it's like fighting games are finally actually modern multiplayer games!!

my opinions may change and sour, maybe they fuck up the balance later (it's capcom, they will), but for now, this is good. im excited to see the future for this game and excited to see how devs will finally respond if they want to stay competitive in the FG market.

made the mistake of taking a break because RE4 came out so i finished this with no idea what was happening. it's p. good though

boomer shooters if they were fun

fun but im just a bit bored. game is way too repetitive imo

2020

i wont rate this because i really havent played enough to develop an opinion beyond "holy shit this is so fucking boring"

this voice acting is so fucking bad that i cannot stand it
